My DH's bosses family is going to WDW next month. Their son's 9th Bday is the day they arrive and would like to do a fun dinner at one of the resorts and asked for our suggestions.

My first thought was Chef Mickey's to help them get in the Dinsney spirit but I'm not sure if their son is too cool for characters if so other suggestions?

We were at Chef Mickey's last week and my sons, ages 9, 10 and 13, still love it! My 13yo didn't do the autograph thing but he did enjoy goofing off with the characters and twirling the napkins around to celebrate.

We did Hoop-de-Doo and Ohanas for our son's 9th birthday. One for dinner on one night and one the next night.

My 9 year old would give his top vote to Ohana. There's something about being served huge chunks of meat from a sword, I suppose, and getting Gummie Worms as a prize for participating in the Hula Hoop contenst and the Coconut rolling wasn't half bad, either.

What about HDD if they can get ressies for it? That's been my son's bday dinner choice for the last several years. They have food that most kids like, and a fun show to boot! Plus, he'll get the extra attention because it's his birthday!

At 9 my DS loved HDDR. It is his favorite of all meals. He however still was, and still is at 10, cool with the character meals as long as it is not pooh or the princess. He however has decided after a princess kiss last trip that we can do the princess breakfast for "mom" next trip. At WDW with your family, you don't have to be cool, just have fun.
