This will be for son's 10th birthday and he is all about the all you can eat. The whispering canyon looks like a good match but havent' seen any cakes from there on board.

Also was considering the hoop de doo or the buffet there and also haven't seen any pics or posts on cakes there.

All feedback appreciated thank you!

( i know my opinion wont count cause im just a kid but i wanted to post any way) i would go to the whispering canyon. it is awesome. :thumbsup2

We went to the Hoop Dee Doo for my DS's 1st birthday in October. I wasn't that thrilled. I LOVE the Hoop Dee Doo, but felt there was 10 times more fuss made over him at the other restaurants. We celebrated his 1st birthday the entire week we were there. We went to whispering canyon (where we had ordered a cake ahead of time) and the whole wait staff sang happy birthday to him and got the whole restaurant to sing as well. It was a really, really, really great time. Of course DS won't remember a dang thing, but DH and I will remember and it was really special to us. I would recommend Whispering Canyon 100%. The all you can eat skillet it to die for.

Also, Crystal Palace was very cute - they brought DS a cupcake and card signed by all the characters - they sang to him and it was just so sweet. Not sure how much a 10 year old boy would dig that though.

My vote would go to Whispering Canyon. As previously said they will make more of a fuss over your son's birthday. For example they may have a group of girls sing happy birthday to him. There are other funny things that go on there as well. You will have to order a birthday cake from the WDW bakery. If you have a smaller party I suggest the smaller cake--it is plenty for 4-6 people, especially after a large meal. If you do a search on the board I am sure someone would have posted the number and perhaps some pics. I believe the prices start in the 15 dollar and up range. You tell the bakery all the info including the restaurant and date/time of your advance reservation and it will be there already waiting for you. Whenever you would like the waitstaff will bring it out to you.

I say Whispering Canyon as well. You can chat more over dinner and enjoy your time together. We thought Hoop Dee Doo was really loud, and hard to just sit and enjoy e/o's company.

You've convinced me (don't know about the OP)! Will I need to make reservations for dinner here or would it be possible to just show up and be seated in a reasonable amount of time?

Thank you so very much! Whipsering canyon it is then, now about that Birhtday cake hmmmmmmm????? party:

Wonder if there is a way to see the cakes they make hoping for a Stitch face would be neat!!

Whispering Canyon when we were their they made everyone sing happy birthday to a little 5 yr old girl. It was so loud and she loved it!!! You actually had a smile on your face for her because you could see the joy!!!! I think at HD you get lost in the crowd because they celebrate alot of things at the same time.
