Brita water bottles

I read on here a couple of months ago that the brita water bottles are a good way to not need to purchase bottled H20. I have been looking everywhere and can't find them in stores. Does anyone have a place for me to look? I leave on Saturday (yahoo) so I can't order on line. (Can you tell I'm a procrastinator?)

TIA

I bought mine at CVS pharmacy. The bottle was about $8. They also had packages of replacement filters, 2 per box, can't remember the price. At one point WalMart had the filters but they were in the plumbing aisle so they were hard to find!

I found mine at walmart with the plumbing stuff - also where they had the regular brita pitchers and other brand water filter stuff.

I believe Brita bottles (the portable kind) have been discontinued. I read on one thread here that you can sometimes find them on EBay, or if you're lucky, you can catch a clearance sale. I checked the Brita web site and it appears they are no longer available. Sorry!

Thanks for the replies...I should have ordered them months ago when I found them on a website. I hate the idea of paying so much for bottled water and I don't like the taste of the water at disney.

There are other companies that still make these type bottles. Brita has discontinued their bottle so try to do a search for other brands. Sorry but I can't remember the other names.

I found mine at my local grocery store. If you can't find the bottles, but can find the filters, they will fit in the bottled water that Disney sells in the park. (I tried it while I ws there, just to see) So then you would just need to buy 1 bottle of water....

We got some in April of 04. Needless to say it was great, but keep in mind you have to carry them all over the place....

just buy a bottlestrap at one of the carts, works perfectly! LOVE my britas...bought a bunch when i heard they stopped making them. i cannot go without them.

We carry a backpack anyway, so it isn't a big deal to carry the bottle. The nice thing is you can get ice water at the CS locations to put in the bottle, but if you don't drink it all you can dump it out so the bottle isn't HEAVY. I'd rather lug an empty Brita bottle than a full bottle of Evian. DH carried the same (unopened) bottle of water around with him for four days in January. At least in October if we're not drinking the water we won't feel obligated to carry it around. It's just tap water - we can get more for free! :rotfl:

I agree, I have 2 but have also heard that you can get FREE tap water from CS locations. If that is true, I will just add my crystal light lemonade to go to disguise the taste. So, tell us everyone, will they really give you FREE water?

I had a hard time finding it at first also- but I finally found one at CVS. This was pretty recent, I had it for my trip this past March. I'm pretty sure I've seen them there since then also.

Good luck!

Quietgirll,

Can you tell me which department you found them in? I asked at CVS and the girl had never heard of them.

Thank you!

tinkersbellmommy....
they should be in the same dept that they have the cases of bottled water, and the gallons of bottled water in. It's also the same dept we carry the regular water filters in. sad thing is, i didnt even realize we had them myself...i had heard about them here, and went to wal-mart to find them and everything!! then i just happened to come across them in our store and i almost fell over...and felt really stupid!! good luck, check that section, and im sure youll find them!!

Thank you. I will try CVS again tomorrow.

I think availability depends on where you live. My local Walmart and CVS do not have any (although CVS still has tags up for the bottles and refills). I did however find some bottles on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond a couple of months ago - I bought all they had! Check in the department with kitchen gadgets, paper towel holders, etc. Good luck!

Just saw a bunch of Brita bottles at my local Bartell's Drugs (in University Place, Washington). They had several - they were not clearance items, either. So they're out there, if you can find them!
