Brita Bottles were Fantastic!

How large are these? We got one a few years ago but it was way to big to carry around the parks (even empty) so we just didn't take it. Sold it at the garage sale! I would like to have a smaller one though.

I saw these bottles last year @ walmart & didn't have a reason to buy one. Now am I regreting it! We are going to WDW this Sept. and do you think I can find any? NO! I'm from Canada & I've checked 3 walmarts and they all say they aren't getting any in this year because they didn't sell well. I've still got time to hunt & I intend to do just that. Wish me luck, it sounds like they are great!

Hi Nancy,

Check at Loblaws - if you have one of those big superstores near you. They have them at our Loblaws in London. :)

I'm getting 2 for our August trip. :)

Question - is the water from the fountains cold??

Thanks,

Beth

just bought my britta bottles at wal-mart. The was 6.97 a piece. This is a great idea...no more warm foul bubbler water or $3.50 a bottle for our august trip..Thanks for another wonderful idea. I also saw a ebay post for 20 refill filters for $15.00 no shipping!!

Thanks for all the price info!

I saw them last night by chance when DH was in the hardware store. They were $10, and the refills were $8.

I was pretty sure I could find them cheaper at Walmart or maybe even Home Depot.

I'm holding out for $6.97!! lol

We're not going back to WDW until next spring. I just don't want to have to suffer through the nasty water like we did this April!

I wish I had listened to everyone on here.

Try eBay. I ordered mine Buy It Now from a seller named "searchybay". If you need more than he is selling in an auction, email him, and he'll be happy to sell you as many as you need. He even includes several extra filters - which cost approx. $5/box at WalMart. I received mine in 3 days so was very pleased. Good luck!

I just did a Buy It Now and bought 16 filters for $15 including shipping from searchybay. I also just got back from a different Walmart near my house and bought 3 Brita bottles with the American Flag and 1 one with a soccer ball on them for $6.97 each. Now I'm really happy and set for my trip. If only October would get here......

Thanks so much for posting about these bottles. I never would have known about them if it wasn't for the great people on these boards.

Thank you to Pooh Girl 71 for informing about KMart's clearance of the bottles.
I went this morning and got the last 2 for $3 each. They seem the perfect size. I wish they would have had 4 instead of 2, but I'm happy with what I got.

Thanks again!! :)

Well, I went to Walmart and bought one too! Now I have a question....do any of you Brita Bottle experts have a bottle carrier or cover, holder or clip for it?? I'm on the hunt for one. I would love some kind of insulated cover/clip!

Also, do you have to run a cup of water through it before the first use? Should I do that a couple days before I intend to use it at WDW in August?

Did most of you use the water fountain water or did you get your water from elsewhere??

Thanks!

I'm looking for the bottle straps for mine too but can't seem to find them. I know they're about $3.00 in the parks. I thought I'd be able to find them on Ebay, but no one has them. Guess I'm on a mission for them now.

Looked everywhere for them today, found them at Kmart for $7.99. I think I will check some of the other Kmarts.

::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo Found them today at my KMART for $4.00. Picked up a couple for a friend leaving in a week! Filters were $3.00.

Has anyone found bottle straps for the Britas?

The regular WDW bottle straps will fit the Brita bottles. We used them last year.

The Mickey bottle straps are available at MK. I think they were around $3 each in August 2003. Each park has its own design.

Does anyone know if anyplace else sells these bottle straps? We are going on a Disney Cruise before we hit the parks and I'd like to have them for the cruise as well.

Thanks,

We just returned form our trip and we loved our Brita bottles. The fountain water was coolish, not cold in most parks (AK seemed more tepid but maybe that was just the luck of the draw). I had better luck getting colder water from the tap in the restrooms. You can go to any fast food counter and ask for a courtesy cup of ice for free. We did that throughout the day so our water stayed really cold and the filters worked great (ie no Flordia water taste). I looked for straps before we went at all the usual places (Target, WalMart, etc) but never found them so we ended up buying them at MK. We went at the end of May/beginning of June and it was already HOT so the bottles were a real money saver for us!

thanks so much for this thread. i just purchased 2 bottles and filters off ebay. we will save money from not buying bottled water on the golf course this summer and a wdw. thanks so much for all the info.

I've been on the hunt for a holder for the Brita bottles. I did find a cute, clear backpack at K-Mart with a bottle holder on the side. The Brita bottle fits perfectly. And I am hoping since the backpack is clear, I won't have to open it every time I go through the gates.

I did find this on a search:

We just got back from our trip and the Britas were a huge success!!!! I bought 4, one for each of us, but found that cumbersome throughout the day and by day 3 we were only bringing 2 and refilling them often. We too utilized the free ice from the counters!!

I was poking through the Sunday tabs a while ago and noticed that Walgreen's has California Innovations bottle wraps for $3.99 each in assorted sizes. I don't know which, if any, will fit the Brita bottles, or if it is a good price.

Thought I would pass on the information in case anyone wants to check it out!

I purchased an insulated wrap with strap at AK back in 2001-don't remember what I paid.

Ceecee-the actual filters are the size of a sport bottle top so you could pretty much put the filter in any size bottle BUT the Britta bottle also has the wide mouth for ice.

On my Jan 04 trip my DH didn't think they worked well enough and still wouldn't drink the water. I will buy a case of water at the grocery store but Ialso plan on bringing my britta bottle this Oct because it will be a lot hotter and we'll be drinking lots of water.
