A THOUSAND THANK YOU's to whoever suggested the Brita bottles that were on sale at Wal Mart -- We've been at Disney this week in the heat that reached 99 degrees on Wednesday. I can't begin to tell you how much use those Brita bottles got. Last time we were in here in the summer we spent a fortune on water. Did I mention my husband and son are both camels?
Anyway - the fountain water had a nasty taste -- nobody felt like lugging the bottled water but the Brita bottle this year made all the difference in the world. I would've paid full price had I known about these little jewels before but thanks to someone on the Dis we got them at a great price too! If I were going to Disney this summer the one thing I would not go without is my beloved Brita Bottle! And thank you to my hero - whoever it was that recommended them!

In case there are those who don't know; you can request ice water anywhere throughout WDW. We refill our Brita with ice cold water this way and it tastes great!
I agree the Brita bottle's are fantastic!

Are the brita bottles just empty bottles with filters on them? So the idea is whenever your thirsty you can ask for a cup of ice water or will they fill the brita bottle itself? Wow that is a good idea so you don't have to carry a heavy water bottle that gets warm and sweats in your backpack

I saw these bottles last year @ walmart & didn't have a reason to buy one. Now am I regreting it! We are going to WDW this Sept. and do you think I can find any? NO! I'm from Canada & I've checked 3 walmarts and they all say they aren't getting any in this year because they didn't sell well. I've still got time to hunt & I intend to do just that. Wish me luck, it sounds like they are great!

nancykb -

Try eBay. I ordered mine Buy It Now from a seller named "searchybay". If you need more than he is selling in an auction, email him, and he'll be happy to sell you as many as you need. He even includes several extra filters - which cost approx. $5/box at WalMart. I received mine in 3 days so was very pleased. Good luck!

cbbi, glad you loved the Brita bottles as much as we do! I too got that hint from these boards, and boy were we glad we had our Britas on our trip last summer! We'll be taking them again this year and I'm sure they will be as much of a lifesaver as they were last time.

I also got my brita water bottles after I read so much about them in this boards...It was the best idea ever; we used them in the parks every day , when we came back we use them constantly , I send my two boys to school with them, they always used to complain about the "taste" of the school water fountain
and the brita bottles helps a lot, and also saves me a lot of money in bottle water( money that goes to our Disney Funds):hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Julie, yest the Brita bottles are empty bottles with filters. Sometimes when you request a cup of ice water, cm's will give you a cup of ice and you will fill your bottle with that and water from a drinking fountain. :D

You can tell how much I loved those bottles because I was posting while on vacation! We are home now and I still send huge thanks to whoever suggested them. You should be in the Dis Hall of Fame!

Even the water from the fountains I usually find tastes so bad - was cool and great coming from those bottles and our 15 month old even mastered the use of them.

That's a great idea to get them filled with ice too - I hadn't thought of that but I will the next time!

I found some at K-Mart on Sat on clearance for $4. They were with the plumbing/bathroom stuff.

They also had them on a shelf with the water for full price.

Where can you find a nice holder with a strap?

I'd like one with Mickey on it... Can you get one online anywhere like that?

Thanks to this thread, I'll be trying to find these bottles and filters to take with us when we go in October.

Thanks so much.

Reneé

I've been using these for years now, its the best saver ever! Glad you all enjoy them as much as I do! I did try to get one at Walmart and I couldn't find them but I did find the filters, you do know that you can still use the filters in other sport bottles as long as they are the same size. And don't ever put anything but water in them, anything else will taste awful! Ta ta for now!:cool1:

Thanks for the hint. Just got mine this morning for $4. Filters were also on clearance.

I just found soe refill filters at Rite_aids for 50% off(3.99). They had the water bottles with one cartridge also for 50% off(4.99). I have been looking and had a hard time finding the refills. I'm wondering if they are planning to discontinue them?

I am also having a hard time finding them. I'll have to try Rite-Aid. Thanks for this info.

I have tried Walmart (out of stock), Bed Bath & Beyond (doesn't carry), Target (doesn't carry).

Nancykb,

We were able to get our Brita bottles at Sobey's - they also had the replacement filters. Have also seen the replacement filters at Canadian Tire (2 for $8.99). The bottles themselves were $13.99 at Cdn. Tire. Have never seen them at A&P, Loblaws, or any of the Walmarts - and we did the tour to find them too.
Good luck!

I just bought 2 from Wal-Mart at regular price $6.99. E-bay is also selling them for $7-$10.00 a piece.
