brita bottle in the park?

you know .... Those new brita water bottles that you can just pour water into it and it filter it so you can drink on the go? Has anyone tried them with the nightmare that is the Florida tap water?

Yes, I have been using them for many, many years. The bottles you see in the store now are a new generation. They are absolutely wonderful, and definitely eliminate most of the taste. I recommend filling them at soda machines - that way the water will be double filtered and nice and cold.

The reviews are they leak, we almost bought two of them until I read the reviews. What we ended up getting is Camelbak Groove. Seems like there are insulated and non insulated ones. Water tastes GREAT through them

The older ones leaked due to the rubber strip they used to attach the bottle to a belt. The new ones are a different design and I haven't had any problems so far.

DD12 has one and it's great. It doesn't leak. Haven't used it on FL water yet but we will in 9 days!!! Getting one for myself before we leave. Check them out at Bed Bath Beyond with a 20% coupon they are very cheap!

We all have one & fill it with ice from QS restaurants. Melts quickly in the Aug heat.

the kids used them in the parks, we would ask for ice water at counter service places and pour it in the bottle.
No leaks. No tap water taste!

We used them back in 2012 and found that many of the quick service self serve soda stations had filtered water and so did the water fountains. After a few days we ditched the filters.

I have two. The old style that leaked and the new style that doesn't. They work very well at filtering funky tap water.

I bring the crystal ligh tlemonade to go packs and split one between four cups just to make it taste good...no brita cups

I have used similar bottles made by Glad and love them. No sulfur tasting water and no pricey Dasani water.

I have used the brita bottles for three trips (two in August) and they were amazing! We filled them from taps, drinking fountains and soda machines. No funky taste whatsoever. They are also nice and light when empty so we only filled them when we needed a drink and carried them empty. Perfect for keeping hydrated on a hot day.
