Hi - hope you don't mind me posting a few questions about the GF - I normally hang out (lurk normally!!) at the UK Trip planning.

OK - we have three weeks (three baby!!!) booked at the GF in August 2008. I guess it's a standard room.

Do you know if they will be able to provide a bed rail (to stop 3yo from falling out of bed). He'll be sharing with DS (9) so the other side is covered!!

Is there a turn down service for ALL rooms - it's not important, i'm just curious.

Do all rooms have balconies?

Will the hotel be able to upgrade to a better room - if so, what are my options. Do i have to go through my travel agent?

I'm very nervous about staying at such a "posh" hotel - have I made a mistake!!!! (2 children who will then be 3 and 9???)

Is Narcoosies suitable for families? (I wouldn't dare go to V+A or California Grill - as much as I would love to! I'd be so embarrassed if 3yo kicked off during late dinner during fire works!!!!!!)

Is the GF FAQ thread up to date???

Many thanks,

Kev :goodvibes

How exciting for you! Ok ok let's see....

Yes, the hotel can provied you with a bedrail.

Yes, if there is turn down service at the resort, its for all rooms.

Yes, all rooms have balconies or a patio if you're on the ground floor.

If you want to upgrade your reservation, I would call whomever you booked with. If you are talking about a free upgrade at check-in, then all you can do is cross your fingers and wait until check-in.

Yes the GF is posh, but its family friendly first and foremost with loads of fun things for kids, like the ladybug release.

We usually do Narccoosses without the kids because its pretty expensive, but it is family friendly and our kids were welcome and had fun when we did take them.

Oh you will have such a wonderful time! I am going to go have a slice of jealous pie.

The GF is very full this time of year; if you want to upgrade your room, then I'd suggest doing it in advance, through your travel agent. Don't count on being given a freebie. And yes, the GF FAQ is up to date; if you read it, you will see that there is daily activity on that thread. Narcoossees is loud, so your kids won't have an issue, but a crying child should always be removed from the restaurant. There's a difference between laughter loud and meltdown loud.

Cheers!

three Weeks!!!! Can I come too? can I, huh? :goodvibes Put your worries to rest. You and your family will have a blast! Even the "standard" rooms at the GF are fabulous. After seeing it, you'll understand. Very large rooms, with the most comfy beds, huge bathrooms, pleasant decor, beautiful grounds, what more could you want? Your kids are more than welcome. I've stayed at the GF several times and please trust me, it's very kid-friendly. Please check into signing your kids up for some of their programs, like pirate cruise, tea parties, etc. It's lovely to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks from the dock, and at Narcoosie's they pipe the music in. Go, enjoy and don't forget to let us all know how much you enjoyed it. Man! I'm soooo jealous.:rotfl:

Thanks so far - feeling a little better already!!!

What is the pirate cruise please??

I don't think I could be cheeky enough to ask for a free upgrade, but I'd be happy to pay for one on the day if I could afford it!! Depends on how much we can save until then!!!
