Bringing your own food into park

Anywhere we could sit lol. Usually it was a bench or a low wall, or a table at one of the open seating areas near a quick service location.

Has cast member ever given you grief using quick service location tables during the lunch rush.

Last time we were at Magic Kingdom,we decided to grab lunch at Cosmic Rays. There was a large family there taking up 4 tables inside with their own food. This was at 12:30 and the place was packed. We had to bring our food outside and sit on a cement bench with our food on our laps.

When we did this, we would always get a drink at a counter service location and then just sit there. We have also just sat on a bench depending on what we brought.

Nope never. I've seen folks use the tables near QS locations just to sit and not order/eat anything as well, they're just public seating areas.

No, we have never had an issue. However, we also don't take up a table at a very busy spot if there are people eating there that have purchased food. If it's busy/crowded, we would just find someplace else to sit and eat.

It may depend on how crowded the park is. When really busy, some QS locations won't allow people into the seating area without food (like one goes to order while the rest of the family grabs tables). I don't know if they would allow a party in to sit with their own food when that's occurring - I haven't noticed a full party with their own food at times like that, though I can't say it doesn't happen.

Enjoy your vacation!

CM's won't let you sit in designated QS seating areas with your own food - you will need to find a bench or other seating - the QS seating is for those who have purchased food at that location. CM's have really been cracking down on people saving tables prior to getting food as well -

For those who bring their own food in, where do you eat it?
I eat my lunch early......like 11/1130am.
QS places have lots of open tables.
I eat my picnic lunch and have never been challenged by anyone.
Now...... at 1:15pm with all the tables full and the lines are backed up......that may be a different story.

Have to disagree with that. We bring all of our own food pretty much all the time and always use QS places to sit. There are some restaurants that won't allow you in anymore, such as Cosmic Rays. However, the ones that do we have never once been asked to leave or told tables are being saved. In fact, we've had many CMs help us find and clean a table.

Our very recent experience was different - we were able to sit in any of the open seating areas (Cosmic Rays and CHH would be an exception in my book as the seating is indoors) and eat our packed lunches. This was at HS and MK, during pretty busy times. We aren't lingerers, we want to refuel and get back to rides and attractions, but during our 20-ish minutes we didn't encounter any issues while sitting in the outdoor seating areas.

Our experiences are similar to some of the above posters. We haven't had an issue sitting in QS places with open seating. Like others, we eat and leave. We don't hang around when we're done. We almost exclusively bring food in.

Disneyland/DCA has a picnic area. It's in the esplanade outside the park, under the monorail beam. They have tables and lockers there, plus it's inside security so really easy to go out and eat, then go back to the park. IMHO, it's a really nice, quiet place to get away from the parks for a bit, and saving money on food ain't bad either.

We've eaten our own food at qs locations, but we always order an "extra" to go with our packed lunch. A nice cold beverage, an order of fries, a dessert type item, and never had any problems. We don't go between 11:30 and 1:30!

If we pack a lunch we usually eat it a bit at a time while standing in line for attractions. Half a sandwich in the Small World line, peel and share a couple tangerines while waiting for Buzz Lightyear, break out the pretzels in line for Pirates, etc.

In MK, Tom Sawyer island has some quiet rest areas for a DIY lunch. A nice respite from the craziness. My favourite place is gone, the path to the rose garden to the right of the castle, facing Tomorrowland, had a few benches and was surprisingly quiet for being so in the middle of the action.

It really depends when you go, we have sat at tables of places that are not open. Other times we sit on a bench, brick wall or eat while waiting for the parade.

That's where I eat my Pop Tarts and drink my Capri Sun.........my in-between meals snack!

We rarely pack in a lunch or dinner but definitely take a lot of snacks. We tend to do like others and eat them in line or while waiting for the parade. I have seen families sitting at the tables in Tomorrowland Terrace eating picnic lunches.
