Is it actually allowed or not? I keep seeing it suggested, but wasn't sure. What do I need to know? Do's & don'ts?

TIA!!

Yes, it's allowed.

No glass. Food needs to be preassembled (i.e. you can bring in a sandwich, but you can't bring in bread, meat, cheese, lettuce, etc).

As long as you do not go overboard you are fine. Fruit? OK. Granola bars? OK. Drinks? As I already mentioned no glass. And do not bring in 15 of them at a time. If you bring a small number for your group that is fine. Cheese and crackers? OK. Bagels? No problem.

Also no exceptionally large or hard coolers. I have seen first-hand on more than one occasion people being turned away.

I have also seen people being turned away when it appears they have gone overboard. Hard coolers are a big no-no from what I have seen.

We brought food is just last Friday. As previous posters have mentioned, it seems to be OK as long as you don't go overboard. A Disney security person once told me that they don't allow picnics, which, I think, explains why prepared food is OK but raw makings aren't.

We brought some cheese and crackers, tea, honey, a few oranges and a prepared meal from an LA vegan restaurant.

We had no problem on multiple days with a small lunch sized soft cooler filled with sandwiches and fruit.
