I am curious to see if and how folks have brought water on board the ship. The water in the soda dispensers is ok but would prefer bottled water if possible. Don't want to pay an outrageous $35 for a 24 pack via Disney. Thanks!!

You may bring onboard whatever non-alcoholic beverages you wish. Only requirement is that it must be carried on, not in your checked bags.

Many use wheeled carry on luggage.

We carry-on bottled gingerale and bottled water.

I use a combo of three things:

(1) rolling hardside suitcase -- emptied of most of the things normally in it; they go in the park bag backpack or checked bag;

(2) a RuMe bag ( http://www.myrume.com/ Some hold upto 50 lb, though i wouldn't personally put in more than i can comfrtably carry :-) ).

(3) the drink holder slots on the park bag backpack that i wear as a carry-on; that takes care of two bottles :-)

I have a couple other carryons, but they are already full with their contents.

We each do this, and between the two of us can carry quite a bit of bottles if needed. The pain is hauling them around until you are allowed in your room.

Next trip we are brining a Grayl water filter ( http://www.thegrayl.com/ ) and only a couple larger (e.g. 1L, 1.5 L) bottles of water, plus a reusable bottle each. And a Nalgene cantene that we can filter a bunch of water into and put into the fridge for doling out later.

I would usually just get ice water at one of the bars. We did bring on a few water bottles just to keep in the room but that was about it.

Before boarding... transfer carry-on contents to checked luggage.... unlike an airline... there is no weight limit on checked luggage going to a cruise ship.

Once the carry-on is empty... stop by Costco, Walmart, or a pharmacy to get your case of water..... start loading the bottles into your wheeled carry-on.

The sport top bottles work out well, especially if taking them on excursions. They sell cases at Costco as mentioned above.

I hate drinking out of the tap, but from I what I've read and experienced is the water out of the soda machines are actually filtered via reverse-osmosis which is the same method for the water they put in most bottled water. We just brought our Polar Ice insulated water bottles and filled them up at the drink stations. The water was fine and didn't have any taste which is a good thing. I wish the drink stations had a carbonated water option.

We always take some bottles with us or we purchased them on board.

Ugh this is saddening. Guess i'll be toting cases of soda water on board :(
It should be available at any of the bars, but then its cost + tip. Not sure what the on board bottled selection is. But yea. I was sad they don't even have Coke Zero on the Dream but do on the others.

Yeah, i'll just bring on some cans in my carry on. I wonder if they have it free in the dining room or if its a charge. hmmmm. They had soda water on our 2013 wonder cruise, but in 2014 they didn't have it on the dream, so I feel your pain. Thanks dream! ugh

They used to have soda water at the soda fountain, is this gone from all ships? :(

No they still have it, someone people just prefer bottled water. we just got off the magic and we drank this water all week and it was fine for our famly of 8.

Thank you everybody. I don't think I have ever read about the reverse osmosis. That is good to know. We brought water bottles when we sailed on the Fantasy, but it was a hassle if we forgot late at night. May end up doing the same this time, but we have a rental car this trip and was trying to figure out home to transport some bottled water. I still can't get over that they charge $35 for a 24 case. It's obscene!!

I took 2 12 packs of 10 oz bottles of water. I have the hard sided luggage with the caster wheels. I just used the smallest suitcase. I chose to take the smaller bottles as they all fit perfectly in the fridge and it was mostly just for late night when we were settled into room.

It was free in the dining rooms on the Magic last year if that helps?

It's been a couple of years for us, but at Port Canaveral we had a case of water (plastic wrapped case from Publix) and we checked it curbside through DCL and they brought it to our room. They slapped a luggage tag on it with our cabin number, I tipped the porter, and the water showed up at our cabin without me having to carry it all over the ship. Again, this may have changed (or it may depend on the porter you get), but this seems like a better option than carrying it all over the ship until you get to your cabin.
