Bringing Towels from home?

Just wondering if anyone brings beach towels from home for Nassau and CC? Or, do they have towels you can take from the ship to the beaches? Is there a deposit or a fee? Thanks in adavance for the info!

There are plenty of towels that you can take off the ship with you....sometimes they are in bins outside the ship (in ports, but always at CC) but you can always get them in bins up on Deck 9 by the pools....no deposit required....DCL just asks that you return them. DCL usually has a return bin set up outside the ship so you can drop them off.

If you are on a DCL sponsored excursion towels will be at your meeting place onboard....usually in one of the lounges or theatres.

FYI....the towels are about half the size of a standard beach towel....that is why I always purchase a souvenir towel onboard (full size).

Towels are provided as you leave the ship on CC. No charge. There is a return bin as you come back to the ship.

On DCL excursions, they provide towels. On excursions on your own, there is sometimes a bin as you leave the ship. You can always go up to deck 9 by the pool and get towels there. There is no charge or deposit.

They are not large, wonderful beach towels...more like small/medium bath towels. However, they are certainly adequate, and we don't spend the luggage space/weight to bring our own.

Save the room in your luggage, don't bring them from home. They will let you take towels from the ship both in Nassau and Castaway Cay (also all the island stops on the Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries too). They are not large beach towels, they are the size they give out around the pool. In Nassau if you are not doing an organized excursion with Disney, you will probably need to go up to the pool area to grab towels. There is no deposit, they just ask that you return the towels when you return to the ship.

Thanks everyone! That is exactly the information I was looking for. I did not want to waste the luggage space with beach towels!

clten offers good advice. Plus, you will need the room in your luggage if you purchase a DCL beach towel in the gift shop to bring home as a souvenir. The towels they sell are full size beach towels in a variety of printed designs (not the plain white towels they offer for excursions). Some if not all designs are exclusive to DCL.

Do they ever run out of towels on Deck 9? Should you get towels the night before to have for your next day's excursion?

I have been on DCL 13 times and never saw them run out of towels on Deck 9....they keep replenishing during the day.
