Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

OH RUB IT IN, TRACY AND NANCY!!!!!!!!!!!

WHERE IS MINE??????

Hey nancy, glad you got your passports!! WHEW!!! ::yes::

Your mailman is afraid of you Mel! Mine came UPS by the way, not USPS. Just thought you needed to know so you have one more person to stalk :rotfl2:

YIPPEE! :cool1: for all of you who have got your documents! I am still waiting. I hope they come before we leave for DL on the 15th. My TA has been put on HIGH ALERT for them to come in. I am just nervous because he tends to be SLLOOOWWW at getting things to me.

Today is my "OFFICIAL" get my @#$ in gear and start packing day.

My TA called DCL on Monday (since we have no docs yet.) Were told that they would be printed "late this week" and that we should get them next Monday or Tuesday. Since DCL was running them so late, TA asked that they be sent directly to me....and asked me to e-mail her when they arrive. Now....let's see if DCL manages that one.

We are leaving at 4:30 am on 8/17, so MUST have them by the 16th.

The last time this same TA asked DCL to contact me directly (hurricane Jeane, we were already at WDW, but on 2 separate ressies)....DCL called TA even though they has my cell and my resort room number! We'll see where the docs go.

Still no docs here either :confused3

But did get a call from Allseas wanting to confirm where to send them -- they are hoping for delivery by the 10th. They did note in my file I'm flying out on the 17th.

Suitcases are out and ready to pack ! :cool1:

Congratulations everyone on getting your docs! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I have developed a middle ear infection - drats (I thought that only happend to kids!) So maybe I'll be driving to LA :sad2: That would be a very unpleasant start to the vacation!

We have a date for the Wine Tasting Party!!

August 23 from 2:00 - 3:00 at Diversions.

E-mails will be sent out on Friday to confirm attendance and wine selections for this event.

P.S. I turned down the 5:00 to 6:00 time slot because that is the Captain's Cocktail reception. Lots of drinking going on that day!!

Tracy :cheer2:

Okay - any hints when any of the other activities are going to be ???? Confirmed formal nites, semi-formal etc. ???? :Pinkbounc

No other hints, lots of frustration, glad it's set!

Our docs arrived today. I feel like the trip is finally reality. All four of us are so excited about the trip that it is the topic of dinner conversation every night. Now the wait to Aug. 18 when we go to Disneyland then board the ship on the 20th.

Wow busy day, isn't that the day of the fools lunch, and the room tour, and also my palo brunch). I figure my luck it will also be character breakfast day since I planned palo brunch that day.

Ugh, just noticed parade of rooms is on sunday at 1 I have a spa treatment at 2, Well if we're going down the ship then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Why did I think this was on Tuesday.

Sorry men but I have a fashion question. A high scale store told me that it is not "in" to wear black nylons for formal wear. I have a formal black long dress and a black semi formal knee length dress that I need to buy nylons for. Would you go wear black nylons, tan or go without? Would you wear flip flops? Help this fashion challenged person please.

I am not bringing nylons, and I'm only brining one pair of shoes to wear to dinner. A pair of tan and white sandals. I'll be wearing them without nylons. If it is not "in" I don't really care. Wear what you are comfortable with. I never really wore black nylons anyway, usually just tan.

My daughter will probably have white and black though, (of course she is 6 and only wearing white dress shoes)

We got Docs!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!! We are really getting to go!!!!!!!!!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1::banana: :banana: :banana: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :dancer: :banana: :banana: :banana:

Sandy, you should always match your hose and hem. So black would be the correct choice. THis is fashion advise I have heard many times. In the event you cant match the colour, then nude or as close to natural is the next choice.

No docs here, but I did get a new blouse from my favorite sister, and it will be on the ship for one of the formal nights. It will go perfect with my palazzo pants, so now one dress I was going to bring will not have to be packed. Yea for me!

I think it also depends on the shoes you are wearing as to whether or not hose are appropriate. I am wearing high heeled strappy sandals and no hose with my full length formal gown.

JiminyC...answered your fashion question on the main thread.

If this is too personal just PM me that I'm horrid and nosy...I never shop, don't need clothes for my job, buy the cheapest basics I can get by w/...I used to be in a classroom but haven't done that for 3.5 years so most of that stuff is out of date...anyway, along comes a cruise and I have nothing...thus far I've spent about $335 on cruise things...I've spent more, but that was for DS's jeans...which he needs for school anyway, and luggage which he needed...he is too old to be sharing suitcases w/ us. Is $335 out of line...around $150 was for 3 pairs of capris that I needed for work anyway. I am about done, except for $100 for shoes...DS needs a couple pairs of stone or khaki pants and one pair of casual shoes...my sister is doing a Western this week so I'm waiting to see what she brings us shoewise from Key West. I had to buy a hat, sunglasses, robe and nightclothes (mine were rags), and a pendant and earrings...am wearing dresses I already had...see no sense in buying something that I'll wear once during the year.

Speaking of spending money...I would like to buy some decent silver or turquoise jewelry...read that it is difficult to come by in the ports we'll be visiting...anyone know any different ?

August 23rd sounds like a peachy day to me...I'm only hoping the dinner menu isn't full of things I love, because I'm a snack kind of girl. What do you want to bet...dinner will have the veal chop, blue cheese and asparagus risotto, lobster, creme brulee, and grand marnier soufflee...and I won't be able to eat a bite !!!
