Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Just think, if we wore our Disney poncho's it might serve two purposes. Keep us dry and with the heat and humidity we would probably sweat off several pounds. That maybe would justify an extra dessert one night.

I will probably tuck in our ponchos as a "just in case". They shouldn't take up too much room.

Carol

I was going to bring an umbrella just for shade when we are at the Panama Canal. The compact ones that won't take too much room in my suitcase :)

Deb

I am planning to bring 2 compact umbrellas for us. I figure they can be used for rain or sun protection. I wouldn't want to miss the canal passage due to either one!!

I will also pack some clear cheapo ponchos (2/$1 at Dollar Tree) just in case.

Dollar Store! :cool1: My exact thoughts :umbrella:

Hi y'all - I believe someone may have e-mailed me in the last couple of days about the SOF wristbands I have commissioned. Unfortunately, MSN decided to treat it as junk mail 'cos it didn't recognise the sender, and we all know what happens to junk mail :confused3 - there it was - GONE!!! :sad2:

So if you sent me an e-mail and I haven't acknowledged it, pls send again or pm me.

Thanks

Those are great ideas - I saw the tiniest compact umbrellas at a travel store in the mall - I'll have to go check them out.

Thanks Tracy for the wonderful newsletter  :Pinkbounc

We're going to Seattle tomorrow for a Mariners baseball game - hoping it doesn't rain then!!! Has anyone been to the zoo in Seattle? I have heard it is very good and was thinking of going. We were also planning dinner at the Space Needle (to celebrate my 40th birthday - yikes!!!)

Have a great weekend everyone :sunny:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Diane :cheer2::cheer2:

Hey Tracy FANTASTIC job as usual. :worship::banana: Can I add a birthday to the list for the next one? Phils' birthday is July 25th and I forgot, (bad wife) to give it to you for the list. Thanks.

Much nicer day today. Hot but the humidity is way down. Good thing too, our next door neighbor is our changing a flat tire on their mini van. So glad that isn't ours.

I have been out of comission lately. We were in WDW for a week, had a great time, but came home quite ill. I have been sick all of last week and still trying to get better, so, I haven't read any of this thread.

Great newsletter Tracy! Thanks!

Can't wait until next month and neither can DD (2). She keeps asking to go on Disney rides and we tell her in August. Then she asks if we are going to Disney world in August. We tell her we are going to DL in August and then she can ride the rides again. She is in denial that we are home from Disney.

Happy anniversaries and birthdays that I have missed.

Hi Denine,

Sorry to hear you got sick, that is no fun. Did you get a respiratory virus from all the changes in climate? (humidity, humidity, and more humidity in FL?) I think that is something to think about for the cruise (all the climate and temperature changes along the way that we are not used to.) Or perhaps, just all the lack of sleep at WDW and the fun go, go, go patterns compromised your immune system. Anyhow, get better soon!

That is too cute about your dd and rides! princess: She takes after her mommy with her love of everything Disney! You done good. :goodvibes

Happy 4th of July!

Barbara

Hi everyone! We have been busy with ballgames, fireworks and a visit from Mom. Madison has the midwest's largest fireworks display every 4th of July and people come from everywhere to see them. They estimated there were 250,000 people there! Shot off 15,000 shells! Got a great parking spot about 1 1/2 miles away late afternoon and we actually got home within 45 of the fireworks ending. This is great considering we live about 15 minutes away normally and includes our walking time to the car! Here are a couple pictures from the fireworks.

The theming wasn't nearly as good this year as year's past or Disney, but the fireworks themselves were awesome!

WOW! :earseek: Awesome pictures of fireworks. I can never get fireworks pictures to turn out. :guilty:

DH just bought his fireworks today! He only spent 1/2 as much as he usually does. We usually have enough fireworks for the entire culdesac. :cheer2:

Happy 4th of July everyone! :cheer2:

This is the last holiday before our cruise! Yippee!!!!

Gorgeous fireworks photos Tracy!!! We saw fireworks last night too. Our city had a big celebration at our local mall parking lot and city hall parking lots (they connect with a major street). Although it also did not have the Disney "magic", the fireworks were fabulous! We were also strategically parked to get the heck out of there soon, lol! Came home to having one of our neighbor's friends' car stolen from outside her home. Needless to say, we were concerned for our usually very safe neighborhood. Guess it happens everywhere.

Roxanne, we also bought our safe & sane fireworks. Man, are they ever expensive if you buy the good ones separately. Oh well, they may soon be totally banned in our city, so we're enjoying them with our kids until they do. We used to go to a show on the 4th, but our neighbors and friends just do them on our block. It is even more fun than a show!

Thanks again for the terrific photos!

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! Now, we're going to go see the new "Bewitched" movie.

Fantastic photos Tracy. They are truly lovely. I love fire works and also can never get my pictures to look like those.
Is there still a group going to see the cliff divers the night we are in Acapolco? Was wondering if there are still people planning on doing that?

Thanks again Tracy and I promise to get my wine information to you soon... before August 18th when we leave here. :)

Happy 4th to all the Fools!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most important thing about fireworks photos is to have patiences and a steady hand. I have neither :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously though, I used a tripod this time. These were my favorites, but I did take over 100 pictures. A few not too good because of the patiences and steady hand bit. I also used a tripod this time. I find that the ones with the most light are the quickest and prettiest.

Happy Independence Day to Everyone!!

Hi everyone, HAPPY 4th to you all.

I found out our stateroom number yesterday, we've but in the dark with a GTY 10 for over a year now. They gave us a SECRET PORTHOLE ROOM #5020. :Pinkbounc :bounce: We're pretty excited to be in one, not our first time but I'm happy that we are not on deck 1. Not that there is anything wrong with deck 1, it's just so far from the kids clubs. Our DD loves going to the clubs, she'd go from the time they opened till they closed if we'd let her. We do like for her to have dinner with us sometimes.

I started looking over my wardrobe this morning trying to decided if I needed more clothes, LOL or if what I have is going to fit me for the whole cruise. I do plan on gaining just a little weight :rotfl: Guess I'd better get cracking on my diet and exercise. Of course, I could buy some new clothes, I figure by the time we get to Curacao I'll be in need of larger sizes ::yes::

Tracy, thank you for the GREAT!!! newsletters. I've been printing them so my DH can read them when he has time on the road.

Well if I'm going to get anything done around here today I'd better close, so here's hoping everyone has a happy and safe 4th.

Ginger, Bill and Ashley

Congrats on nabbing a Secret Porthole Room, Ginger! As of now, the Fools have 4 of the 6 SPRs on this sailing!!

Hi neighbor! We are in 5018! I would LOVE to check out your SPH Room. We would like to get one at some point to save a little $$. Our DD is 8 1/2 and LOVES the kids clubs too! How old is your DD?

Roxann

Great Newsletter Tracy :cool1: Started to print it out -- and ran out of ink halfway through :goodvibes Put in more ink tonight ... so I will reprint tomorrow ! Great fireworks pictures.

Had a busy weekend -- Wedding in Buffalo ( 7 hour drive each way) and a hop into Canada to meet Arlene& family , then back home for our traditional 4th of July BBQ.

This year my nephew decided to get some fireworks -- some noisy & lots of pretty ones. Afterwoods they swept up in front of the house.

Next week - onto Allentown to meet there.

Cliff diving show requestion form is available -- let me know if you have any problems finding the form.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY to all fools I missed.
