I wouldn't store it on the verandah uinless it is in it's case and then in a ziplock bag. It is going to be wicked hot, so you need to store the batteries in the room or risk frying them. Trust me, after living in the desert for 8.5 years, I know what the heat can do to a car battery, a cell phone battery, and any other battery that is rechargable (think power tools in the garage and shed). I have suffered condensation on my eyeglasses the last few days just getting out of the air conditioned car. That only happens on the way there, on the way home, I have the windows down!
I don't know if leaving the card in the cam,era would be bad, I have never seen any warnings to remove the card while storing the camera for any length of time.
I can do you one better Erica, my first video camera was in two parts, one was the camera and the other was the tape recorder and play back unit. It was BETA MAX! We actually traded it for DHs first mobile phone, which was a handset with the keypad on it connected to a large base containing a rechargable battery. We still have our full size VHS camera, I have no idea what to do with it. Never had VHS C. I would someday like to have a DVD camera. But I am happy with the one I have now. Small and lighweight.
Andrew, what were you thinking?
