Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Packing?? Don't think so. Can't find the time. Have a wonderful FULL bin in the bedroom, however, to throw things in for the "don't forget" stuff. Ironing? Ya, tons to do. Laundry? Still waiting. Suitcases, wondering if we have enough of the BIG sizes. Trying to get ready for camping this weekend, cruising next weekend and working on father in laws estate. Sooooo flustered, can you tell?

Did anybody see where they've cancelled the unlimited internet package for our cruise? Oh well, I guess DD is just going to have to live without it. They have some discount packages available (cheaper than "per minute" but not unlimited). Wonder if this is because the terminals were so busy on the May cruise?

Hello fellow fools - I feel like a chump here....

I am wondering if anyone can find time to give me a quick intro to this thread? Here's the deal - I'm a 7th-time cruiser that's fairly new to the boards. I enjoy every minute of my time on the boards, just can't always keep up with ALL of the info (work, etc.) I have been very busy planning this cruise for the fam & friends. I am the "Cruise Director" for my group. I'd like to know more about what's happening with this gang on the Repo cruise....just don't have time to go back and read through months of threads. I'm trying to jump on the bandwagon a the worst time! Sorry! Can anyone summarize some of the activities or point me in the right direction?

I am cruising with a small group of 9 this time around. We're all very excited (you can tell by reading my poem on the cruise page!) & would love to share our happiness with others! We've never met with any Disers while cruising, so sad I know. Most of the group hears about info from me, from the boards! We're all Disers in a way!

Perhaps I should make the trip to Home Depot for those little green Mickeys!

Any help is appreciated, better late than never....next time I'll know what I'm doing!

THANKS!!!:earsgirl:

No packing here yet but I am a last minute type person anyway. I have used the famous lists to pick up odds and ends at the stores. We sure need alot more clothes for this cruise than a regular trip to disney. Shoes are really something. Kids wear sneakers, dock shoes for dinner and dress shoes and sandals that is eight pairs! Then DH - same 4 more pairs, then me, well at least dressy sandals take less room but I figure at least six pairs! That is 18 pairs of shoes! :bounce: :earseek:

DinsyDiva4ever--PM Winotracy for the newsletter. It has all the information all in one place!

Welcome DisneyDiva4Ever!!!  :cheer2:

You still didn't tell me where you got your hat :rotfl2:

I sent you an e-mail with the link to our newsletters. That will catch you up quickly! See you really soon!!

We haven't started packing either. Will probably do it Tuesday and Wednesday as we are supposed to leave on Thursday. I say supposed to because I work for an electric utility, play a key role in getting power restored, hurricane Irene is lurking out there, and I was told this morning that my vacation may be cancelled, but they would try not to. The only solice in this is that the company will fully reimburse for the trip and when I told the VP how much it was, he said they would try to work it out so they would not cancel my vacation. I am crossing my fingers. I have not told the family yet, but I guess I will have to let them know tonight when I get home.

Nordkin, how awful for you, even the thought that you might have to cancel. Will the rest of the family go without you? Could you bear that? I can't imagine such an awful situation so close to sailing date.

I've started packing, but realised that there is no way we are going to fit everything in 3 medium sized cases. Allan is going on a voyage into the unknown tonight, up to the loft to see if he can find another suitcase. No problem with this on flights, but I'm not sure about storing 4 cases in the stateroom. Did somebody post (or did I dream it) that you can store some cases under the beds?

Oh boy even more new people!!!!! Hooray and welcome aboard.

The NEWSLETTER is the only way to catch up now. If you read them all it will take about a day, LOL. But all the news for all the events is there. We don't have too many things planned, a couple of meets, walking on sea days, games, and lots of food and drink.

Can we go NOW????

Thanks to everyone for the quick replies on how to meet people for the Repo! I am sitting with my printed newsletters catching up on info now.

9 more days! HA!

The August 1 issue probably summarizes everything going on best (also with a packing list to help you out ;) )

Don't forget! This weekend I'll be sending a list of all the events, locations, times and who is organizing everything to anyone on my newsletter e-mail list.

Pam, yes! There is room under your bed. If your suitcase is too thick you may have to open it before putting it in, but we have always put all of our bags under there. Works great!

Sorry Winotracy!

I got my hat at the store that "just happens" to be the exit of "Pirates of the Caribbean" at MK. My Sissy and I purchased these before our last cruise. They were only $8! I was surprised more people weren't doing the same thing! Perhaps you can have one shipped to you in 9 days!

That's great news! They have a shop outside of Pirates at DL too. Donna? Can you check it out for me on one of your many trips in the next 7 days!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll pick one up on Thursday!

Ugh! How frustrating for you. If they reimburse you for the trip, do they know how much the difference will be to book a new cruise? I think it would only be fair that they pay this also. Maybe that will give them more incentive to make sure you go on the cruise...

Tracy - just reading the thread about the unlimited internet not available. I'll have to phone DH and let him know. Do we have wireless internet for sure? I'll tell him to get the wireless card then for his laptop. He's starting to stress about missing work!

Welcome aboard All :cool1:

I had to replace my garment bag -- noticed the hanger holder cracked on my trip to Buffalo in July. Luckily Kohl's had a nice sale and I got a rolling one for $ 80 vs. the normal $ 199.

Now if I could find time to pack it :earboy2:

My garment bags with our formal wear are on their way to CA. Hopefully, they'll get there ok. If not, then I guess we'll be very casual for formal and semi-formal nights!

Renee - You are brave! I haven't mailed anything because I'm too paranoid!

I mailed the diapers, pullups and swim diapers too. I also mailed the Tide Tablets. I just checked the Fed Ex website and they've been delivered. Now just to get them to the ship for Saturday.
