Bringing packaged food/snacks on board

I've read their policy on bringing food on board, but need help clarifying something.

We will do the dining plan for our few days at the park before our cruise (God willing this pandemic is resolved by then). In the past, if we had QS meals to burn and turn into snacks, we would stock up on marshmallow treats (especially since we'd be there during the holiday stuff).

I am assuming since this package is tied (even with the sticky tie and not a twist tie) that it is not considered factory packaged and this wouldn't be something I can bring on board- is that correct?
On the same thought, I would be able to use those snacks (if there are any left over) towards things like the packaged gummy worms (since those are in a factory sealed package where any tampering would be really obvious), right?

I can't answer to the twist tie treats. I would *think* they would be fine but I have no experience. As for things like prepackaged gummy worms, yes you can bring them on board. I have often brought snacks onboard. One thing we miss on the longer cruises is snacks like pretzels and chips so we put them in our checked luggage. Also brought on granola type bars with no issue. One thing to remember. Anything that is opened at the end of the cruise (like a bag of chips) usually cannot come off the ship due to US Customs. If it's still unopened, no problem. Always read US customs rules for food if you are planning to bring back food from your trip. Things like dried meat etc are not allowed in the country. And if in doubt, declare declare declare.

YMMV, but we've never had any trouble with any of the food products we brought on the ship, whether it was open candy bags or treats from the parks (like the fantastic s'mores bars). Same thing with getting off the cruise at the end with that leftover food. Packaged gummi worms definitely won't be an issue.

Let's just say you've never had a problem, yet. There are restrictions as to what food items are allowed to be brought onboard as well as what can be carried off the ship.

The still-sealed factory packaged gummy worms are fine. If you have any unopened packages of them left at the end of the cruise make sure you **declare them to US Customs** as all food must be declared and that includes "candy" [and opened packages are not allowed back off the ship, in ports or at the end of the cruise].

While the marshmallow things may be allowed, it would probably be safer to not try bringing them on board. If you do choose to, be prepared that they may be confiscated.

I am pretty sure that we have brought custom rice krispy treats from Goofy's and possibly bulk candy from Goofy's onboard. It wasn't a ton though, maybe 3 treats. Maybe if it's a smaller amount it's not an issue. Not sure. Maybe we were lucky. I don't remember carrying anything off the ship that was opened though. That wasn't intentional though. I know that we have brought sealed stuff onboard, ie protein bars, almond butter packets, chocolate candy. Some of the rice krispy treats are now factory sealed, but not the custom ones or the ones from the bakery cases.

Our first cruise in 2014 was after a week of the Deluxe Dining Plan in the parks -- we had a TON (ok, more like 32 "snacks") of snack credits. I used them all in the store at Coronado Springs (rice crispy treats, Goofy candies, mixed nuts, etc.) and we carried them aboard with us. There are regulations and Disney has the final say, but in general, bringing pre-packaged food on or off is ok - just don't do it after the package has been opened. Even then, on is sometimes allowed, off is the problem.
