so where do we go for luggage pickup? and then where to for ME?

Im thinking this may be easier in the long run than going back to the resort btwn parks just to make sure the luggage arrived. I dont want to wait till bedtime to find out something is missing.

If you feel you 'must' get your own bags you go to the baggage carousel to claim them, same as when there was no DME. The only thing is that you do NOT use the yellow DME tags.

Then you can take your bags to the DME welcome center. Directions to get there will be in your DME packet.

Kind of defeats the purpose of using DME if your claiming your own bags, and will add time to your getting out of the airport. Unless you are arriving VERY late at night.

I've used it several times with no problems whatsoever

Go to baggage claim and pick up your own bags then go down to level 1 on the B side of the terminal. When you arrive at POP, store your luggage with bell services and pick them up from bell services yourself ( if you don't have too many) when you get back from the parks. Most problems/delays are when waiting for bell services to deliver your luggage. This is what we do everytime. No worries about when you'll see your "stuff" :)

Is there any recent replys on using Magical Express. Our flight arrives 9:45 am and am wondering how long it will take us to get to our hotel. PoP Century. Is it worth it or is it quicker to get our luggage and get a taxi?

At that time of day, you should be at your resort anywhere from 70-90 minutes from the time you land, if you bypass baggage claim, and go straight to DME.

Your luggage will arrive at some point during the day, and you do not have to be in your room for it to be delivered.

I considered getting my bags ourselves and decided to trust the system. What a nice perk. No gliches , everything ran as it should. The hardest part was finding the counter and all I had to do was ask( it is down by the car rentals on the far end)

I would use it.

I'm using Midwest, which is not a carrier with ME, yet I have my yellow tags. Do people have problems with non ME ailines getting their luggage picked up.

last question first... participating airlines have nothing really to do with DME, believe it or not. going to WDW, any airline can make full use of DME and the yellow tags for in-room luggage delivery.

for OP, there are 2 sides to the main building at MCO, which basically is a [ on its side. Level 1 is Ground Transportation, Level 2 is Baggage Claim, Level 3 is security / gates and is the only floor that has access to both A and B sides.

Which side you come in on depends on your airline. If you come in at A, you will need to go to Level 2 on the A side, claim your bags, go back up to Level 3, cross over to B and then go to Level 1 on B and locate DME which is a little walk. that's your worst case for claiming and carrying your own luggage.

We flew Midwest the last time and the only difference with ME was that we had to check our luggage on the return trip (ME to MCO - we had to lug our bags from the bus back into MCO and check as normal). The "participating" airlines would have allowed us to check our bags at POP before boarding the ME bus.

Did I explain that clearly? :confused3
