Bringing Mom to WDW for MY bday, Sept '09! Day 4 Part 1..AK and Tusker House 12/30!

Ok so....another 'What Would You Do' question

So on my first day this trip, I'm going to upgrade my ticket to an annual pass. Now my dilmna is...should I also buy a Tables in Wonderland card even though I'm on the DxDDP this trip?

For the January trip I'm DEFINITELY going to get the Tables In Wonderland card. I plan on eating at a few signature restaurants and it'll make it's money's worth on that trip alone.

The only ADR I have for this Sept trip is the Tea at the GF. If I used the TiW card, I'd save $6 or $7. I'd also use it for when I buy wine or drinks at our table service meals, although that would only save me $1 or $2 here and there. Don't think I can use TiW anywhere else, right? Only at TS restaurants and NOT for snacks and stuff? If anything I can use it for friends that aren't on the dining plan that eat with us. Not sure how often that will happen though.

If I pay for TiW in Sept, it's $75 less than I have to pay in January. I know it's still $75 but I'd like to get it out of the way.

Hmm...so what do you guys think I should do? I'm perplexed! lol

OH!!! and I just realized....

WE'RE FINALLY 30 DAYS AWAY FROM DISNEY!!!!!!!!!

Hey there!!! I'm in!!! So sorry about you are the BF!!! I give you alot of credit for doing the long distance thing... IT must have been hard, but it's awesome that you are still going to be friends!!!

I bet you get your trip docs in the mail any day now... I got my DME vouchers at aroung 35 days to go and the remaining docs. right on my 30 day mark! Fingers are crossed for you that you get them this week!!

Oh, and I am getting my MBA now... It is pretty intense, but will definitely be worth it in the end!!! I am done in June, and it can not come quick enough!! Good luck with yours!!

I GOT MY MAGICAL EXPRESS DOCUMENTS TODAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




My mom just called because she knew I've been waiting for them and told me that I had something in the mail from Disney. She said it says Magical Express on the envelope. I have to wait to open them though until after I get out of the gym. Boo!

It's about time!! GEEZ! So now I think I still have to wait for my other docs to come, right?

Whew!! At least one thing came. I can relax a little now

My MIL asked if we really needed the documents... I asked her what kind of drugs she was on cause they must be good ones, and she could make some money off them... Apparently she missed the joke cause she responded by saying, "Well, I am on Prednisone and I took some Tylenol around noon, why?"

We got the TiW card in May when we bought our APs. I honestly did not see a big discount. When you use the TiW card an automatic 18% gratuity is added, BEFORE discount. Plus the card is $75. So if my math is correct the following example would give a better idea.
EXAMPLE:
Drink w/o card(menu price) $9.25 + 18% tip $1.67 + tax .58 =$11.50
Drink with card $9.25 + 18% tip $1.67 - 20% of $1.85 + tax .46 =$9.53 thus the total savings is $1.97. It would take approx. 38 drinks to break even.

Now that is a very basic example, but it kind of gives an idea of what you should expect. Look at the menu price and your total check should be about the price of the items ordered.

The last two times I called Disney for questions, ADRs, etc....they both told me that they didn't have my DME info on file so I gave them all my flight info, both times. I open the letter today and the flight info is STILL not listed on the documents! So I called just now to add the flight info and I asked the lady and she confirmed that the flight info was never added. I don't get it...but at least I have them!

Thanks for the advice I was doing calculations all day today too and know there's NO point in getting it just for this Sept trip. The only reason why I would get it this trip is just so I don't have to spend $75 in January. Already trying to pre-budget! I think this will be a last minute decision when I actually upgrade my pass to an annual on our first day.

Today we received the remainder of the Disney docs...the vouchers, luggage tags, etc. But umm...since when am I married? All the docs say Mrs. Jennifer... I'm not even going to bother dealing with that now.

I also got in the mail something I bought off ebay but I'll take a photo of it and post it on here later

I'll also be posting a list of things I need to buy/do before we go.

I told Terry that it is a matter of national security that I have my documents TODAY!!! I am calling Obama... F-15 fighter jets are going to go to Disney and pick up my freakin' docs and hand deliver them to me... They can land on my street for all I care...

My mom has called 3 times this morning cause they are taking the kids camping for the weekend and she has no clue what she is doing... On the 3rd call I answered, "STOP CALLING ME!!!! I am waiting to hear from the travel agent and every time you call I think it is her!" So of course about 10 minutes later, she blocks her number and calls again... She thinks she is so darn funny...
