Ok, now you're making rethink my formal night plan. If I'm going to be surrounded by tuxes, then I'll want to put a little more effort into my attire.

Gibraltar is surprisingly British. We were here in May 2007 on the Voyager of the Seas and walked through the city towards the cable car (around 30 min walk). The cable car (I believe it was around 15€, we waited in line for good half and hour) takes you to the top of the Rock where you can see the straits and the Barnaby apes. If you opt for the cable car, get also the audio tour; it is very informative and explains the history, nature and geography. There are also taxi tours available almost everywhere; they offer good value, but are quite short (2.5 hours).
Our plans are to try to find some geocaches; it seems there are quite a few intriguing ones hidden around Gibraltar. Are there any other geocachers traveling with us?

I've never heard of this before, but I just did a goggle search to read up. I think this would be an excellent adventure! I will speak with my husband about it as well as my sons. They're older and wouldn't have a problem keeping up ... and they LOVE to hunt for things!

Cadiz is one of the great European seaside cities. The best way to experience the atmosphere is to get “lost” in the narrow roads of the city (the old peninsula part is not very big) and check the shops and restaurants… Alternatively, we took the train from Cadiz to Jerez (around 30 minutes; under 10€) – Jerez is more modern and not so interesting, the thing to experience is visit to one of the sherry bodegas (Jerez is home of sherry). We did the guided tour of the González Byass (around 20 min walk from Jerez train station); it was very interesting to see how the sherry and brandy are made, there was also ample tasting opportunity at the end…

Is there anything in Cadiz to do? We really wanted to do Seville, but do not want to lose 3 hours driving.

Thank you so much for sharing.

What do you want to know? She is beautiful, smart and my neice.

She is working on her Phd and this will be a great break for her after turning in some labor intensive work.

Oh, did I mention..she is also my partner for the drink of the day at Cove Cafe and anyone is welcome to join us. Just ask Hannosmom and Grayfal. We had a good time last cruise.:coffee: :chat: :drinking1

Cove cafe....drink of the day....yum, yum, yum! Is it time yet?

You can't go wrong with the little black dress. That's what I'm bringing for formal night and dressing it up with sparkly jewelry. It may pull double duty with different accessories for semi-formal. Haven't quite figured those out yet.

That's what I am planning on as well. The whole look can be changed by jewelry or a nice wrap. I am trying to travel as lightly as possible and as a matter of fact I am not even planning to bring any stockings. Just strappy sandals and bare legs - shaved of course.:rotfl:

I called my travel agent today check on my Airfare. My dad & I are flying on Lufthansa to Frankfurt and have a 3-1/2 layover in Frankfurt getting into Barcelona at 2:50 PM on 08/18. Question I have Once you land in Europe do you have to go through customs in Germany and than in Barcelona?

The next question is. I have a 12:06 P.M. Flight on 9/01 when we get to Port Canevaral. Is the disembarktion process fast.

I arranged disney Air and transfers.

Thanks for the welcome! I believe I'm included in the count with Faireygod mother. She is my aunt and I'll be traveling along with them. Right now 2 of us are in GTY so we are waiting for our room assignment. My name is Christine, but I typically go by Chris.

Chris

I have added you with your aunt. So you are on the navigator unless you want me to put the two seperate as its two rooms? Up to you.

Answer to the second question, you should be fine, usually you will be able to leave the ship by around 9:30 or earlier and get to the airport in plenty of time.

You only have to go through customs when first entering a country that is part of the EU (Germany, in your case). Then, when going from one EU country to another, you will not go through customs again (Germany to Spain for you).

The Schengen Agreement, which came into force in March 1995, substantially relaxed border controls between France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and the Benelux countries. It has since been extended to apply to Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Greece and Italy. Persons moving directly between Schengen states will not normally be subject to border controls. There are normally no border controls between the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and citizens of these two countries need not carry passports or identity documents. Citizens of other EU countries have to carry a passport or national identity card. Persons from outside the EU also need to carry a passport and are supposed to report to border officials (if they can find them).
