Looks like lots of 10-12 girls on our cruise. Megan will be 10.5 when we cruise, too.

I hope we can do this as well. My DGD will be 11 in June.

My younger DD will be 12.

It's great that there will be many girls in the 10 - 12 age group. Can we all make plans to get them together. Can someone suggest a day, time, place to meet? having friends during the two weeks will be great....especially during the 6 day atlantic crossing.

Wow, all these girls. Anyone with a DS in that age range? Mine is 11, turning 12 just after the cruise.

On excursions, I can't decide what I want to do in Tenerife. I'm considereing going to Mt Teide on my own or doing the Catamaran with DCL so we can get some snorkeling in. What's everyone else doing?

Just 16 weeks now!!!!

For tenefire we are thinking about either the catamaran or 4x4 jeeps - both through disney. not sure about cadiz yet. for gibralta thinking about the rock tour including apes and cave - leaning towards disney excursion for that.

what are you thinking about for cadiz and gibralta?

ellen

I'm thinking that we'll do Gibraltar on our own. It's such a little place, I can't see paying big bucks to Disney when I can take a cab or walk and do things at my own pace.

Our family voted to go to Seville when we stop in Cadiz, and I think we'll book the Seville on Your Own excursion through Disney. I also looked over the train schedules, so if I miss the bus back there won't be cause to panic.
I guess this time around I'm not feeling that I need to hang with Disney's schedule.

We are going to do the Catamaran in Tenerife. It looks like a lot of fun. I love to snorkel and I would LOVE to see whales and/or dolphins!

Are there suggested beaches in Tenerife where you can snorkel on your own....we are doing a Jeep Tour with friends in the morning but I would love to hit the beach in the afternoon.

Sorry Pat. I don't know of any. I tried to look on Tenerife's website, however, it didn't suggest any. I'm sure there are lots of beaches that will offer great snorkeling though. Does anyone else know of any in particular?

Did I miss that we had a time slot for the jeep tour? :confused3 :confused3
I was just under the impression it was in the morning .....

Thanks, I will dig a little deeper myself, too.

We are going to go to Seville on our own, but by train from Cadiz. There are frequent train connections and it is cheap. I want to be back in time to go to a Flemenco place in Cadiz that Lonely Planet suggests as one of the best places for Flamenco.

You know, I got out my Lonely Planet Spain book and looked again - the bus station in Cadiz is right at the port, and the bus station in Seville is about a block away from the Alcazar and the Cathedral. There are 11 trips a day between the two cities, and tickets run 9.30 euros. Do I need to spend $60 per person with Disney to go there??

I took another look after your post - I had assumed we would be taking the train - but the bus might be a better bet.

Between bus and train, it appears there is almost no way of getting stuck in Seville or lost. You can always find your way to the train or bus station.

I really want to just wander around and explore that day, and I think the guides to Seville are good enough to do that.

:coffee: So many girls,Max has just turned 15,so the 2 boys may not have too much in common(unless your DS loves table tennis, think you call it "ping pong!!!)
Hope there are a few more boys out there????:yay:

Me too. Somewhere in Seville is a shawl and a fan with my name on it! It would be nice to know what the bus schedule is though, so I know how many opportunities I have to get back to port.

My DD will be 10 also on this cruise.

It's a shame that for these little tweens that we have to pay the adult prices for the shore excursions, ie $120 instead of $59 for the beach in the Canary islands.

They're still kids aren't they!

I think disney should review their prices and charge kid's rate on excursions up to age 12y as they do for the cruise fare.

I also have girls, Sara is 11 and Amanda will be 10. Glad to see so many others!:)

I'm really glad to see so many girls ages 10 -12 going on this cruise. I would love for my DD to make friends on this cruise and have girls to hang out with. When we get closer to cruising time, it would be great to set up a meet and greet for them.

My DD loves hanging out at the Oceanneers Lab. Would that be a good place to meet. Does everyone else's DDs like the Lab?

The last time I checked, my 10 year old DD was still a kid....no way close to being an adult. It is a shame that we have to pay adult prices. I wish Disney would review this policy but I don't think that will happen. In the last few years they have lowered the age for charging adult prices.

I'm trying to decide if an over-the-door shoe organizer would really come in handy for this two week cruise. Any opinions out there?

also, if you plan on doing laundry, will you buy on the ship or bring your own?
