I would also be interested in scrapping a journal before the cruise. I don't know if DH would let me lug all that junk (uh, useful, creative tools and accoutrements) to Spain, though.

Happy planning everyone.

Well, give him the choice between lugging it to Spain or having you buy it all on the ship (which you can do, you know). :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'll update as we go. I won't post stateroom #s out here, don't worry. As we get MUCH closer to sailing date, I'll PM the participants and ask for your stateroom #s.

DIS tag? Looks like I'm IT.

Found this on the second page - 24 hours with no posts. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I got my Lonely Planet Spain so have been pleasantly planning.

DisneyElf, is it possible to point to the TAG participant list from the page 1 cruisers list? Something at the bottom of the list linking to msg. # 622 ("We have door signs - t-shirts and plans to make, meets to arrange, and check out our list of DIS Tag participants!") or something like that.

Where are the people who wanted to do RFC in Southcenter? I'm dying here! :confused3

What's RFC in Southcenter? :listen:

Oh, that's for my WA buddies -- there is a Rainforest Cafe (RFC) in a place called Southcenter Mall. RFC always puts me in a Disney mood. I think several of us were planning to meet there. Unless I have my threads confused, but I don't think so. :confused3

Answering your q was my 500th post! Nice milestone for me :thumbsup2

Any weekend after the next one works for me. Just sent a note to Beth to see if there were any other May locals. We can bring our tour guides and do a trip planning party! :teeth:

So I guess it's up to those that have to drive a little farther to pick a date?

Sounds good. I'm fairly flexible on the weekends, except mother's day. Which reminds me -- is this going to be adults only, or can we bring the kids?

bridgemanfa - in response to your post-

I saw the bridge on TV when it opened - what a structure!! I don't want to drive, but sure would love to see it. I saw a similar one in the Mosel Valley in Germany (not as big, of course) and the impact was chilling!! (We cycled under it - talk about feeling small)

Our current plans are to fly into Barcelona, stay two nights at a hotel that will keep our big suitcase with formal wear etc., take a train to the south of France and stay in a small house for a week (www. vrbo.com) and cycle the Canal du Midi then train back to Barcelona for two nights (hope our suitcase is still at the hotel) then MAGIC!!!!

The beauty of OCP - you can vicariously try out so many plans before having to commit! It's a duty.

Wow, hadn't even thought about driving to Barcelona! Is it o.k. to just hop behind the wheel or do you need a special license? insurance? I wonder if my family could rent a vehicle big enough for the four of us and our luggage?! It sure would be beautiful , I wonder what the costs of renting would be like and how long the drive would take?

You'll need an international license, which you could get at AAA for $15 or so (price may have gone up). You'll also need to be comfortable driving in a foreign country with different traffic signs and rules (though some people have no problem with that. I do...I'm a wimp). Also, the best views are those you can concentrate on when not driving...I'd pick a train any day in Europe, but that's because I've done it so many times I'm biased. I LOVE train travel in Europe!

I could certainly see the benefits of letting someone else do the driving! :thumbsup2
