Erica, feel better soon!

hmmm...makes me wonder if I should fly into Zurich and work my way to Paris...Sounds like it's going to be a PARTY TRAIN! We can have a meet on the train :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

ooooh erica,
I know how you feel! DD and I have been fighting off the same cold/flu/whatever the heck it is and it has been with us for 2 weeks as of yesterday. DH and DS had much milder versions of it,so just keep pumping those fluids and try and rest :thumbsup2 sending the dust your way! :wizard:

dee47, that site sidestep is great-----i'm addicted to airline price windowshopping!! I don't yet know how it's going to help me in 4 or 5 months, but hopefully I will be a much savvier (sp?) shopper when it comes time to charge it :goodvibes

I tried both sites for my upcoming cruise and I almost chocked at the prices. I hope the gas prices go down soon. I think it would be better to drive, just hate the thought.

Thanks Dee! I feel so much better about the airfare prices than I did before that this cruise might actually happen!!!! :goodvibes We will wait and see :woohoo:

Where is everybody today???

Wackywexler, did you get my PM?

Keep in mind (I'm a TA, and I try to remind my clients about this when they book Europe): Most flights from the US will get to Europe the NEXT DAY. Be aware of this when it's time to book air. If you book a flight on the 18th, chances are you'll get to BCN on the 19th (unless it's a midnight flight). GrayFal, your flight arrives on the 19th :)

Keep in mind that if you're trying to catch a ship, and you're NOT going through DCL for air, they won't wait for you if flight delays keep you from boarding. I recommend booking a flight out on the 17th at the latest, unless you're going through DCL or taking a midnight flight on the 18th (and that's still risky). Also remember that midnight on the 18th comes at the end of FRIDAY, not Saturday. Ask me about people who book midnight flights and get to the airport the night AFTER their flight was scheduled... :furious:

.
The dates I was looking at were for THIS year, so yes, a Friday evening 6:00 pm flight arrives Saturday morning....that is when I want to arrive....just stumble  off the plane onto the ship :boat: and into my bed :thumbsup2 after my lunch at Parrot Cay :woohoo: .....luckily we will have the next day in Barcelona to enjoy!

Hey GrayFal, what's a DIS Circle Journal???
A scrapbook that is sent around a circle of friends....each person doing a 2 page layout on the 'owners' topic and then passing/mailing it to the next person to complete.....Here is an example of the pages I have done for other peoples CJs and also my own.
http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/userprofile.asp?user_id=184232

Hannosmom, chichihoney and faireygodmother are in the DCL CJ with me....we are a group of 12 who will be sailing on the 11/11/06 double dip cruise together....some of us have met and others have not...our plan is to bring our journals to share on the cruise.... :grouphug:

Hey grayfal maybe we can all meet up together and fly across the water. We should talk to Linda and see if she is interested.

I was talking to Linda before (yes, actually talking, as in TELEPHONE) and she was saying the same thing...might be cheaper to get a flight to NY - Jet Blue into JFK and all leave together from JFK..and then do a one way from Orlando back.....only time will tell!

That is the coolest thing! And the samples are GORGEOUS! Maybe we should make one for the Ship of Fools...we can even have shipboard sessions where people can come and scrapbook (for their own or the journal).

Yeah, now I'm getting way too far into the planning.

Anyone wants to play DIS Tag on the cruise?

What is DIS Tag?

It's a little lime-green, mickey-shaped magnet, with DIS names and stateroom numbers on it, that mysteriously finds its way to each stateroom door on the list. If you get it, you're it, and your job is to tag someone else's door.

Considering how many of us there are, we will have to have more than one magnet. Each magnet has an "in case I'm lost, please return to stateroom # <xxxx>" line on it.

Only people who want to participate need share their stateroom #. We never put names on the magnets, just your DIS name (e.g. Dee47 -- 1234 [not my actual #, but you get the idea]).

It's a fun little game.

Thank you for the compliment...I hadn't looked at them for a while...it will be GREAT fun when they make it back to me.....

I did read here I think that people did scrapbooking on the last repo but how the heck do you bring all your 'scrap-crap' with you???

I have google earth but I am not getting a picture,,,,just text and <> kinda stuff :confused3
right click and hit save as and save the file to the hard drive then open it.

Dee47....I will play, it will give me something to do while DH is watching TV.

Grayfal please PM me when you guys are ready to book so I can as well.

Oooh, I'll play tag.

I would also be interested in scrapping a journal before the cruise. I don't know if DH would let me lug all that junk (uh, useful, creative tools and accoutrements) to Spain, though.

Happy planning everyone.

We're in for tag!! Sounds fun.

I have never, ever scrapbooked though. They look fabulous but I have always just put my pictures in a regular photo album. I'm still using a film camera too. Someday I'll get caught up with everyone else!!
