BTW....our daughter will be 13 at cruisetime and our son 10....we are on Deck 8.
CAN'T WAIT!!!!

We're in too.

Glad to be bringing the Magic home once more. Cruising with DM and DD 10 at time of sailing.

Yesterday I got through sucessfully online within 15 minutes. Had a 31 minute hold time at 8.01am on the land phone with the Castaway club number. The cell phone calling the main # did not get through at all. Not until after my confirmation was printed that I noticed the web site had changed my cabin number. In my excitement to have gotten a confirmation I hung up the wrong phone- brain stopped functioning in 3 directions. By 10am when I tried calling it was a 121 minute hold time. Eventually spoke to someone in the afternoon who then applied the 10% discount I had from the booking on last years Repo cruise and $250 on board credit to the new Repo. For some reason the category 5 and 6 priced out at the same rate,( Did I miss something ????) So instead of changing cabins I upgraded to a cat 5 for the same cost. Mum's not too thrilled about a veranda. She's not happy with the idea of going overboard. "The porthole is much safer."

The roundtrip transfers at $50 pp are pretty reasonable compared to their usual.

Is anyone going to book the hotels DCL has on offer for us?

These repo cruises are the very best. It's great to have so much time on the ship and so many great activities. I can't wait to meet all of you. It'll be DH and me in room 2564. :cool1: :cool1:

i was curious about the hotels, too....we are still trying to decide what our pre-cruise plans are going to be and for how long....any suggestions anyone?

I don't have a lot of time to post/read, but Tony (atigeg) and I will most definitely be holed up in stateroom 5650 for the repo. I am already excited (and already trying to figure out how to drug myself up enough not to freak out on a half-day plane journey).

Quite a few of us are planning on hitting DLP first ...

I would recommend stopping over at the DLP boards -- they are great people over there.

I will update the main page tomorrow ... with all the new faces :)

So here's my question for the day...

When was your last cruise? & where did you go?

Our last cruise was this past January on the Magic. DH didn't go (we had just been on the Wonder in Sept), but me and the girls had fun! It was our first 7 day.

We have a lot of planning to do before this cruise! DH doesn't even know I booked it yet!! :lmao:

DH is from Egypt and we have been there numerous times. Thing is, I HATE to fly!! :scared1: so I haven't gone in about 4 years although DH has taken the oldest 2 DDs without me. So I decided to make a deal. I would go next summer if we could come back on the Magic!! I initially wanted to take another boat over with DD3, but I didn't see that working out so good as we would still have to get to Egypt from the boat. Not something I would want to do alone with DD.

So....We will fly to Egypt after school is out, stay for about 6 weeks, around Aug 1 tour through Europe to Spain and come back on the boat!! :woohoo: The only snag I have run into so far is there are no longer any boats going from Egypt to Europe (there used to be one that went to greece) so I will probably have to get on another plane to either Greece or Italy. I have a long time to plan this all out though.....but I am a big procrastinator! :guilty: :rotfl:

I did have a question for everyone. Do you have early or late seating?

I chose late as I think early is too early, but I would also like to throw this out there. Traveling through 5 (or is it 6?) time zones while on the cruise is going to be a bit tricky with eating. By the time we hit CC, it will be like eating dinner at 12:30 in the afternoon with early seating!

A Day Late but here goes! :rotfl2:

Our last cruise was a 4 day last month! Talk about short! :lmao: :lmao: Luckily the weather was perfect!

Unfortunately had to give up some cruises to do this one but have kept the Member Cruise! I guess I have to give up something in order to enjoy that Cat 3!

We are early dinner but I'm sure we will all adjust to the time differences!

I just finished your great report, what fun! Thank you so much!!

You're welcome.

We have early dining, my daughter would never make it to late dining.

Our last cruise was the August Bringing Home the Magic Repositioning Cruise. Fourteen days on board. It was perfect!

Our last cruise (first DCL) was February 18, the 7 day Eastern on the Magic. That was when we got hooked! Weather was fabulous, service was amazing, an unlimited supply of french fries and I have never seen my DH so relaxed in years.

Our next DCL was supposed to be the Easter 2007 7 day Western, but how could we resist the chance to join the ship of fools?! :cool1:

I think 16 months is enough time to brush up on my old college spanish books. Happy planning everyone!

THAT'S THE SPIRIT!!! Don't worry, you won't be disappointed!

It's great reading everyones' comments about their last cruise. We've all been on some fabulous journeys.

pyramid2000, to answer your question, my group of 12 has early dining. My dad is one of those old-fashioned-grew-up-on-a-farm types. He can't eat dinner any later than 6:00 or he's in a grumpy mood! Funny, most of you are worried about feeding your kids at a certain time. For me, it's my 60yo father! He he he!

Scratch42, I'm so jealous that you get to go on the member cruise! I love my DVC membership....but always burn up my points on resort stays! I'll be expecting a full report when you get back.

Barb

Barb, I can totally relate! I'm not a person who likes to sit still for long. The longest flight I've ever been on was 4 hours! I figure I'll be clinging to the ceiling of the plane by the time we land in Barcelona. Who knows, if the whole plane is full of disers, we could have our first meet on the flight over the Atlantic! Pass out lanyards, crossword puzzles, and schedules! (lol)
:rotfl:

I suppose I should get SOME work done today. (sigh)

It's never too early to start learning first names....

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

NYCMickeyMom - Our daughter will be 12 at cruisetime and our son will be 10, we are on deck 2, late seating. Looking forward to meeting you!

we have late seating as we can't seem to get our act together early enough for the first seating.....that's what we did last time and it worked out great! thanks for the info about the DLP boards DisneyElf! TTYL
Buffy P.
(yes, it's my given name and not a nickname as my my mom loved the 60's hit show "Family Affair")

WackyWexler-How excellent!! late seating here too! Look forward to meeting you, too!

Buffy

Oops, time to revise! We just switched our cabin, didn't like the idea of being on deck 7 aft for transatlantic. So now we're on deck 2. Here's our updated info:

Name: sjcubedofct
Room: 2574
Cat: 9
Deck: 2
No. in group: 3- Sherry(40), DH36 Scott, and DS12 Steven

We've got the early seating!

Jackie, sorry we've abandoned you guys on deck 7, but I really want to be closer to the water and midship. What is your DS's name? I can't wait to tell Steven about this cruise, but we haven't even told him about the cruise in October yet! We've got so much going on, we're moving from CT to NC in June/July...we need to get through that first!

Whoo hoo, can't wait!!

Sherry

Our last cruise was 12/3/05 on the Magic. It was my 4th cruise on the Magic and our first with the ship in it's Christmas mode. It was truly wonderful! We tried early dining for the first time on that cruise and it just wasn't for us. We had the early, early (5:30) time and it felt more like lunch, so back to late for our next cruise (11/13/06) and for all the rest of them. :teeth:

The longest flight for me was flying from San Francisco to the Phillipines, about 16 hours. I don't think I even remembered my name for about 3 days after landing, LOL. The most recent long flight was a 5 hour trip from here in Va to Las Vegas in a plane filled with party'ers for Superbowl weekend last February. My xanax (drug of choice for flying) worked like a charm :goodvibes .

i don't enjoy flying either.....my DH, DD, and DS are great with it but I generally keep telling myself the whole flight that everything is fine b/c fedex gets their pkgs to their destination everyday so surely i can get to mine....xanax or valium might be the way to go.....question for people who have let their 10 yo have the run of the ship before. I know they don't give you a beeper when they reach that age and I wondered how comfortable you felt with that arrangement for your kids. My DD will be 13(almost 14) and i know she is not going to stick by his side the whole time...any expert advice?
