Bringing home the "Magic" from the Med with pics- Completed

I am soooo sorry. I was on the 2nd Med sailing (June 6) and I ate 4 :rolleyes1 Mickey Bars with sprinkles from the kid's menu over the 10 day cruise. If I knew they would run out....I would have never done that to you guys :) I would have just ordered off the adult dessert menu. Sorry!

tut tut lol

I think the group of cruisers who took the Magic to Europe ate their weight in Mickey Bars. We had 14 days, what else was there to do???!!!

Come on, I need more info than no Mickey bars and bad pancakes...:goodvibes :lmao:

Hey, just got off the phone with my DH and DD.. They brought the Magic back and said the trip couldn't have been better! ;)
Weather was perfect...as Castaway Cay there were showers all around the island but none fell on the island. Water was warm as a bath and stingrays were friendly.

The ship was full but DH said he couldn't tell. No crowds anywhere. Kicked them off the ship early...had a lot of cleaning to do for the next bunch of cruisers. They are at the airport now- don't fly out until 1pm- they will get home about 8 tonight.

So many things they talked about..biggest thrill for my DD was the arcade...said there was a claw machine and she got 4 toys out! That made her day. DH also said the 6 days over the ocean was the most peaceful. Calm seas..no seasickness. DD said she couldn't even tell ship was moving. She loved the slide..said it was 'FAST'. DH said he even lost track of what day it was..now that's a vacation!
:cheer2:

DH said they didn't have the pirate bars but noticed the hotdogs were weird. Said they looked like footlong..but they didn't have any. Also said that if you didn't know this..you can get loaded fries at Plutos. Not on the menu but if you ask they will make them with whatever you want on them.

If you have any questions..I will try to answer...if they told me the answer...:lmao: Sure wish I could have gone!!

WELCOME HOME DEE!
Welcome home Linda, Sarah, Pat and families!

Can't wait to hear your stories. Anyone who wants to can CALL ME I'll be around all weekend.....wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Can't wait to see you guys in JUST THREE MONTHS!

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Sarah.....what did you bring me?????

.

They were just pirate bars. Just think of a Mickey bar, without the chocolate hard-shell covering, being in the shape of a pirate's head, with chocolate being the bandana part, and vanilla the rest. We were on the cruise from July 28th to August 8 and my kids were disappointed that there were no Mickey bars (they understood that stuff runs out). However, one thing that they were not ready for were the waffles and pancakes made out of cake mix, as opposed to pancake mix. I found out that the Magic ran out of pancake mix rather early and could not get it restocked since their European supplier did not carry pancake mix.

Well at least this explains the terrible pancakes. Since this was our first disney cruise I just thought they could not make pancakes!! We just got home a few hours ago. It was a fabulous trip regardless of the pancakes. Will try to post a report when i get organized.

We were informed that there were only 2,100 passengers on the trip, which is probably why a lot of us got upgrades. It certainly did not feel full and did not seem as busy as the first med cruise either.

Weather and sea conditions have been fantastic. Service impeccable as ever and overall cruise has been first class. As far as my family and I are concerned, cruising with Disney is just about the perfect holiday (or vacation as most of you call it)

This was the most wonderful vacation of my life. I met so many wonderful people. Spent some really great family time with my DH, DGD and Dniece.

I have composed my trip report, which were my emails to home that never out sent because of the S L O W internet. It would time out. I am sure guest service was tired of my calling everyday and going down to see them. I realize it was not their fault, but it was frustrating all the same. My cell phone company gave me bum info and my phone did not work either. Thank goodnes my neices phone did as we had a death in the family while we were at sea, not that we could get off, but at least we could support each other.

I wish I could say that there were no negative to theis trip, but then that would not be life. No matter how good the berries look there is always one or two that are to soft of a little bitter. So, having used that medaphor, let me get the bad or ugly out of the way.

1. My cabin tub/shower room flooded 5 times with waste water (sounds nicer tha saying sewer)

2. The internet was lousy.

3. Sean in the jewlery are of Treasure Ketch was rude

4. There were no Mickey Bars till the last night and I thank the "Wonder" for leaving some for us.

5. The rest of my family was not with us.

That is really all I can come up with. Other than the "waste water" flooding, none of this ruined my trip.

****Trying to get my photos to post with my report. Stay tuned

Funny how you can miss something so simple. We had really looked forward to our evening on the verandah with one. It certainly did not ruin the cruise. I was so happy to get them the last night. I was a perfect way to end a perfect vacation. I wish you could have joined us.

thanks for the wonder for dropping food off. what room were you in i never want to stay in that room?

We were on the same fantastic cruise. What a wonderful time. Great food, great service, great programs and entetainment, great tours, and great weather. This was our 6th Disney cruise and the best.:thumbsup2

Hi Dee, I enjoyed meeting you and your neice Christine. It was a wonderful and relaxing cruise for me and Hannah, even though I rarely saw her except for meals during the sea days.;)

We did not have the sewage problem but we did have the "brown water" episodes. I just made it a habit to run the water in the sink or the shower for a bit before I touched it.

You know, I was not aware until the end of the cruise that there were no Mickey Bars. I'm not a big ice cream person. Now, if they would have run out of Chocolate chip cookies, I would have been one sad sister (or at least a few pounds lighter!!)

How I was looking forward to hearing all about the Med and the Atlantic crossing cruises..........

And what did I read? No Mickey Bars and waffles..............unbelieveable!

Am I to understand that everyone's "trip of a lifetime"was marred by the lack of an ice-cream and a pancake? Jeepers:confused3

Come on folks: where's the REAL news? We arent interested on what you did or didnt eat:surfweb:

Confused over the waffle thing as there were mickey waffles every day at topsiders not that I actually ate them. The mickey bars did come on in Castaway and Im sure everyone got their fill on them. Not a major problem as I dont like them anyway,

As for non food related. Did loads. There was loads of activities on. Party Paradiso was a little naff this time as the acrobat woman couldnt come out due to high winds and no one seemed to have turned up for the party anyway. Flubber in the lab was scheduled during dinner so didnt get to do that which was sad. Wine tasting with Michael Jordan was as fantastic as ever. Susan Egan was wonderful! Got autographs too which was fun. Pub night was in Rocking Bar D and was good. Pub Master Paul did a skit on lifeboat drill (a rap thing) that I felt should be on the first night rather than the last but was hilarious. Rich Papura was brilliant as always. Cheuy and Danielle made the trip perfect and we didn't miss one night with them in the Promanade lounge! Everything was brilliant. The StageWorks tour was a good addition (behind the scenes look at the Walt Disney Theatre productions and you got to go on stage and look around.

My only disappointment was that the over 18 events such as Stageworks and Desperate Shipmates (mystery at sea) were not enforced so kids turned up and participated. Why have an age if you aren't gonna keep to it. Oh and a bit disappointed that the prize for winning Desperate Shipmates this time was the prize given out to all that participated in this on the way over (the magnifying glass). It would have been nice to have a proper prize this time.

Sarah, How is that we did so many of the same things and never met? The ship must have been larger than I thought.

I loved all the activities and the behind the scenes was awesome. Those costumes were amazing and heavy!

I was on the first MED and didn't eat one Mickey bar HOWEVER I did get my daily delivery of Chocolate Chip Cookies. I had 2 of my previous waiters keep me supplied :lmao: :lmao: . They did such a good job I had to hunt them down the last night to give them tips. Wish I had one now. .. Chocolate Chip cookies and milk make such a good bedtime snack.

Okay, so who was the perpetrator in "Desperate Shipmates?" I was following it peripherally but didn't see the end. I was suspecting the black-haired guy.

I finally finished my trip report tonight...39 pages!! Whew! It will be hard to go back to four nights in Oct.

:thumbsup2 ...it seem you made the best of it..& had a cruise of

a life time! :wizard: .

but no mickey bars~ , all i can think of..must have been pirate: s!
