Bringing home an adopted cat! UPDATE..pic pg 3 #36!!

We just got the call from the shelter.....Bonnie (soon to be renamed) is OURS!!! The other family decided to pass on her. We will be picking her up later this afternoon and I will post pictures as soon as we can.

I am so happy!!!!!

Linda

YAYYYYY!! I am so happy for you!! Can't wait to see pics :goodvibes

How exciting! Can't wait to see pics of your new baby!

Thank you for rescuing an adult cat. It is easier for our rescue group to adopt out the kittens, but a fair share of adults go too, thanks to people like you. As I share a Hallmark movie and my lap with 4 kittens that were recued, I thank God for those who take home a shelter cat, making room for others (this is from 2 litters and both of their moms got spay last week and adopted this week). We have over 100 appointments set up to spay and neuter this week (and every week), and still, we can't put a dent in the amount of kittens.

Enjoy your new friend!

Rick,

From the moment we discovered Manx cats we decided on two things...that we would adopt one from a shelter and that we would adopt an adult cat. Our friends adopted an adult Manx from a shelter and we knew that it would be possible if we just looked and waited. Lo and behold, it happened today.

We are very lucky new parents.

Now, if she would only come out of whatever hiding place she has found we would be breathing easier. She spent the first few hours exploring, and now is hiding someplace so secure we can't find her.

Linda

If she ever comes out of her cubby, we want pictures! :yay:

Try smelly canned cat food or tuna to lure her out. :flower3:

Also, even though she's done exploring for the moment, you might want to confine her to a smaller area for the next few days. She may be overwhelmed right now. :upsidedow

We will confine her to a smaller area, if she ever comes out! We cannot find her. We have looked in all the nooks and crannies in our apartment and she must be much better at hide and go seek then we are. We shut off several of our rooms before we got home with her, but if she ever comes out it might be the bathroom only for a few days. Our apartment is pretty small, but not small enough for a scared cat I guess.

Linda

My daughter's foster climbed up into her table, in the area where the table leafs (leaves?) go. If we hadn't seen her come out, we would have never found her! Amazing the spots they find.

Congratulations! Give her some time, she'll be a pest before you know it. ;)

Congratulations! Grown-up adoptees make the most loving family members. I know, because I have six of my own, all of whom made their way to my house.

Awesome, Linda!!!!

Soon you'll be posting your silly pics... like this one!!:goodvibes

Zena is BORED with my lack of attention to HER...

CONGRATULATIONS
We have two rescue cats and they are soo wonderful! Can't wait to see photo. Did you chose a new name for her?

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes. Her new name is Abby...named after Abby Sciuto, on NCIS ( our favorite character on the show and an animal lover)

Abby has finally come out of hiding and has now been scampering all over the house. She has been following us all over, checking everything out and is fascinated by our laptop computers. She has already gotten herself in between my face and my hands so that not paying her any attention is not an option.

We are SO in love already.

Linda

OKAY!!!!! We got one pretty good one, coming right up! Lisa is uploading it to photobucket even as we speak.

Awww she is a pretty cat who looks like she has made herself right at home! Best wishes for great life with her.

She's beautiful! Looks like a cat we use to have. After he passed away we didn't think we would ever get another cat. We waited a year and now we have 10!

Enjoy your new baby!
