Bringing Food Into The Parks???

Well, can we? I have heard yes and no. I have also heard of people (recently) being able to bring in sandwiches, crackers, cookies, juice boxes and such. However, the mousesavers.com board says "No Food" can be brought in. I know there is a new bag search policy but I guess they are not checking for food products.
We are headed to Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios, and possibly Animal Kingdom.

use common sense and you will have no problem bringing food from the outside into the park...don't go pulling a large cooler behind you...if it can fit into a backpack you won't have an issue...we normally bring a few small snacks with us and have never had anyone say anything to us...even had a guard looking thru the bag mention that something looked good!!!

The short answer is, Yes, you can bring in food.

The longer answer is that coolers are discouraged (although many are allowed) and NO GLASS bottles or containers are allowed for obvious safety considerations. You also cannot bring in alcohol. The most popular thing seems to be bringing in a backpack or small bag with snacks and sandwiches and either carrying it along with you or putting it in a locker until lunchtime (stay away from mayonnaise-based sandwich fillings ... )

Disney does tend to be a little more strict about food at Animal Kingdom, because so many guests have the tendancy to just toss their left-overs into the animal areas, which is bad for the animals. So you may get a more thorough search there.

And don't forget to get your left-overs out of the locker at the end of the day! You'd be surprised at how much food is cleaned out of lockers after the park closes ...
