Does anyone know if I'm allowed to bring my own lunch/drinks into the park?

I was thinking of packing sandwiches a few days just to help save a little money...

Thanks for your help!

I asked this question several months ago, and the consensus seemed to be that you won't have any problem if you bring in snacks or a light lunch. The security guards are looking for weapons and don't care about food. When my family went we brought some juice packs and fruit, along with goldfish crackers and some candy. It really helped tide the kids over, and did save us alot. I saw many other families doing the same. Just pack your sandwiches in tupperware so they don't get smooshed!

I think the only concerns some people raised are that you don't take seats away from paying customers in restaurants, and that you don't go overboard and drag a cooler behind you through the parks.

Have fun!

On one of our trips to WDW, we were waiting for the Festival of Nations parade to begin in Epcot Center. Across from where we were standing, a family, also waiting for the parade to begin, laid out a blanket on the ground and proceeded to make PB&J sandwiches. So anything is possible.

My backpack is often loaded with snacks. One day, I was carrying snacks for 7 kids. I had 10 small boxes of cereal, a box of pop tarts (they got smooshed), lots of beef jerkey, 7 juice boxes, a box of nutrigrain bars and a bag of hard candy. The security guard was in hysterics when he went through my bag. (I am very petite, but was the only one in our party with a bag. It appeared that I was by myself with all that food!) The security guard was very serious at the beginning when he explained that it is not allowed for guests to feed the characters.

It was an ee morning, and I was one happy camper after the kids ate breakfast from my back pack!

I've never had any problem taking small amounts of food in the parks. Usually a pack of Lance snack crackers, jerky, or vacuum sealed string cheese. I do this since I sometimes have a low blood sugar type thing if I don't eat regularly. I also bring my Brita sports bottle.

At Disneyland, I saw a family with a gallon apple juice container hanging from a stroller. The mom had just filled it with water and was unwrapping containers of Crystal Light mix.

Just make sure you don't take anything that could "go south" and make your family sick. I worry when the people start taking lunch meat sandwiches out of a backpack and chow down on a park bench.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. We have an insulated back pack that we pack with the frozen chemical "ice" packs and lunch meat sandwiches. It looks just like a regular backpack.

We never had a problem bringing in snacks and drinks. I freeze water bottles, they are great to keep stuff cold and when you drink them they are gone.

They won't allow glass containers, that's what the security people always tell us, oh and no alcohol.:p

My Mom is taking my 2yo dd and I for an unexpected trip next month. I've been trying to figure out what I can carry in the parks for my dd to eat. We will only eat a large dinner, so I have to take my dd something in. I don't want to waste $$ on buying her something, because most of the time she wastes it and doesn't even eat!! Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Frozen Capri Sun pouches worked great. We also half fill 8 oz water bottles that will fit in the kids fanny packs. Fill them to the top with water in the morning and the ice remained almost all day. Also packed a soft, small insulated container that held two more frozen water bottles and zip lock bags of trail mix and peanut butter crackers that held us over until it was time for an ice cream treat!
