Sorry! I'm sure this has been asked before. I've read about bringing snacks in. I was thinking about bringing sandwiches for lunch in...with drinks and other snacks. Also some ice in ziploc bags. Would they object? JUST TRYING TO SAVE SOME MONEY!
I know saving money and WDW in the same sentence is an oxymoron...
Not sure what to bring in to fit this stuff either. I was thinking of a soft sided cooler, but thinking maybe those are too large? I know we'll have enough stuff to carry in.

ok..I"m rambling..any suggestions would be appreciated.

My husband calls me..The Amped Cruise Nazi..

Planninng this land/sea pkg. is so much fun!! :Pinkbounc

I always bring snacks in and they have never said that I couldnt. I can tell you that the ziploc bags, when you put ice in them are great but they do some times unhook, So I'm going to buy rubbermate little tiny jar or cup thing, to put my ice in . I 'm going to see if that will work better.
I know that I bring softside cooler in the ones that will fit about 6 cans of pop in it, and disney doesnt seems to care, this time I bought a backpack that fits 15cans of pop but I'm going to bring lots of water. we are leaving in 3 weeks .

We brought food in last time. We had a soft sided cooler with ziploc bags with ice in them(which really came in handy btw when my dd smoked her head on the sidewalk - long story). We had our whole lunch in there and enough water for the day. It really helped us save money so we could afford to do other stuff at disney. A extra bonus was I didn't gain any weight on our vacation;)

We brought in snacks (i.e., individual bags of peanuts and granola bars), and no one said a word. Personally, I wouldn't even consider bringing a cooler -- regardless of how small. It's too much work to carry around. If it can't fit in a fanny pack, I'm not going to carry it.

We found water bottles to be unnecessary too. There's a water fountain every ten feet -- they're very visible. It's not the greatest tasting water, but I'd rather have that than drag around a water bottle.

Disclaimer: if you have to drag around a stroller anyway, the cooler wouldn't be any extra effort.

I was going to say that too. If I didn't have the baby stoller with the basket on the bottom I wouldn't drag around a cooler either. It can get too heavy with the ice and goodies:)

I always bring food, drinks, & snacks in a collaspable insulated cooler. Sometimes I use the 6 pack type & sometimes I use the 12 pack type depending on how much I am packing. When I use to use ziplocks for ice I would double bag it. Now I freeze a gatorade bottle filled with water and that keeps everything cool. Then we drink the water after it melts.

We won't be bringing a stroller since our kids will be 13 and 15...a little big for those..ha ha..
I guess then I need to decide what sz to bring. I was thinking of the lg. soft sided cooler to store our cold stuff in the hotel. Maybe I'll get a cheapie cooler for that and bring the sm. soft sided one in WDW. I guess after I buy it, I'll decide if that will be the one we take in or leave in our room.
I always double our ziploc bags with ice. I've had those leak before..and that's not fun!

I think I was just more concerned about sandwiches. So I'll just do that. Will save a ton of money. That's what I"m looking to do is save, save and more saving. I know, I'm cheap! But I read about these people that fork out soooooooo much for food. I'd rather wear it or take a vacation with it. Man what some people spend on food there, you could take another trip to WDW. I'll stick with the p&j sandwiches..thank you.

THanks!!

Rather than carry a cooler, you could rent a locker for the day and return when you needed to get into it.

Has anyone used that cooler back pack thing that was on sale at JCPenny's a couple of months ago? I got the $60 one that was on sale for $30 that holds 36 cans of soda (we're doing dapri sun though:) ). Just wondering since someone posted it here and someone might have used it already.
thanks

We are a family of 6 and I bought the same cooler that holds 36 cans of pop. It is a god send on big trips. I would recommend it totally. Of course I was irrate when I saw the dang thing at SAms club about 30% cheaper but it is a GREAT product!

We went last year about this time with 3 kids 14, 16 & 18. I raided Walmart before we left and bought all different kinds of prepackaged snacks as well as powdered lemonade, Tang and Crystal Light. the kids each had a fanny pack and water bottle (not an "offical" one", but an empty Desani bottle.
They each packed their own snakcs for the day and could flavor their water if they chose to do so. This was a HUGE budget help as we only purchased ONE snack (in the parks) per kid per day and no soft drinks outside of the meals.
I have gone beofre and done the cooler/locker thing and frankly, it is a huge pain.

Thanks llggood.

We'll use it on the train as well as our days at the parks:)
I was just afraid I would get to the gate and they'd stop me:confused: .
So it's glad to know they will let it in.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

If you are going to pack ice, one suggestion is to freeze the individual bags of Capri Sun or Koolaid which both chill your picnic and melt into drinkable slush that the kids think is a real treat. The best part is they don't leak like ziplocks often do.

I had a "rehearsal", of sorts, w/ this yesterday at Six Flags. As we were approaching the ticket booths there was a loud recording repeating over and over. It was saying to bring NO food or beverages into the park, if you have them please take them back to the car now! I started to get really nervous as I had packed snacks and water. Well I just kept going figuring they can't exactly spank me for breaking the rules. Anyway, the security guard went through all of my bags and said NOTHING about the food/water! I've heard on these boards that that's how it is in WDW too.

Never thought of that. That's a great idea aubrey.
thanks:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
