Does anyone have any experiences to share - good, bad, or indifferent? Several years ago I stayed at RPH and wound up bringing my cat (who had just been diagnosed with diabetes and I had no one else to watch and medicate her) with me and found the experience to be great but I've never brought a dog.

While my dog is well behaved and I don't foresee any issues of him being in the room while we're out, I was wondering if anyone has kenneled their dog during the day at the Univeral kennel and just brought him back to the room for the evenings? I thought he might prefer the activity and people in the kennel as opposed to being in an empty room all day.

Where is the Universal kennel in relation to PBH?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, my DH and I stay at the Portofino two to three times a year and we always bring out dog Dante with us who is an American Eskimo. We do not put him in the kennel though. We walk him in the morning and walk him at night when we return from the parks and most nights swe end up eating at Sal's or Mama Della's outside and we bring him with us. We arrange to have someone walk him through the hotel concierge in the afternoon. I forget how much it is that they charge you but it is not much. I personally do not like to put him in the kennel but I have read on these boards that the kennels are great. If I can help you with any other info let me know. I hope you and your dog have a great time at the Portofino.
