Hi,

One of the main problems I have with bringing expensive cameras is that I don't feel comfortable leaving them in my bag. So my option is to shoot, put it in the locker, then come back. This isn't really practical though with children....

Water and cameras are only a good combination unless the camera is designed for underwater photography. Waterproof cases always places me a little on edge since if it leaks the camera will sustain damage.

There is also the very ecconomical option of leaving your camera in the locker or resort and taking a single use 35mm camera
Kodak Water Sport
Just remember these use 800ASA and need to be protected from the airport x-ray screeninig process by not sending it through the x-ray machine, but rather handchecked by airport security. This means you need to allow a little extra time for them to complete the special screening process on this camera.

I don't mind the water as I shoot carefully but it is concern over theft that bothers me. I use a digital SLR and a large camcorder. Perhaps what I could do is get a cheap film camera for shots at the water parks...

we buy a waterproof disposable camera for the water parks - you can get some really fun shots with them, and you don't have to worry about theft.

**DON'T**. The issue isn't the water, it's the SAND! It gets into everything at water parks, and if it gets into a camera, you're buying a new camera. Digitals can bite it just as badly as a film camera.

Just bring a disposable waterproof camera for snapshots, and leave your good stuff locked up in a safe. At a water park, underwater shots are more fun anyway.

I'm not sure if you have been to the Disney Water Parks before, but these parks can get so crowded and busy that the last time we went our chairs we had in the morning were taken by others even with our own towels and stuff laying on or near the chairs we were using. I wouldn't take anything that was too valuable to these parks and leave it un-attended.

We do the same thing, we've gotten some nice shots in and out of the pool.
