Bringing bottles for an infant

When traveling with an infant, how many bottles do you bring with you? Our son will be 5 1/2 months when we travel, and though I typically wash his bottles at night, I'm thinking we can bring just a few and wash them as we use them.

Also, any tips for washing bottles in the resort room? Do you bring a bottle brush?

TIA!

based on the small park I work at, not Disney, biggest problem I have seen is keeping sensor water on to wash and rinse. bottles do not always keep senor working. plus with most going to air driers less paper towels to dry with. It can be done but it can take some work on your part. I would suggest taking enough bottles for one day with you and washing at resort in evening for the next day. bring one of the drying mats to put under to allow air drying over night

No way would I wash them in a park sink. We have seen some pretty gross things done in sinks. I would bring enough to last you all day and just wash at night using whatever method you use at home. Another option is to buy and use the bottles of prepaid formula. We used them for travel when my oldest was little. Just pop on a fresh nipple and you are ready to go. Easy to bring if you drive, or order for delivery to the resort. My sister used the liner bottles and they worked great for travel as well.

We couldn't use premade formula because we had to mix it with cereal to help his reflux, so we brought enough for a day- depending on his age it was either 8 or 6. We did like enough for a day plus one or 2 so we didn't have to worry if we didn't want to wash at night. We brought a little 3 oz bottle of our own dish soap and cleaned them in the hotel sink each night. Or tub on the Disney cruise because the sink was too small. We would usually pack a small bowl, or bucket. (A dollar store bucket worked well, you just pack stuff in the bucket when you travel out there and then when you leave if you don't have room, you paid a dollar for it, so you can leave it.) We also brought this brush cleaning set with us, http://www.amazon.com/OXO-On-The-Go-Drying-Bottle-Brush/dp/B00AA7O4CS Which worked well. We also left a note asking housekeeping not to touch the baby stuff. We would dry the bottles out on a hotel towel, in addition to using the dry rack on the cleaning kit. At the Yacht Club we also asked for a microwave so we could sanitize the bottles and used the Dr. Brown's sanitizing kit.

Also, we used a backpack as our diaper bag. It worked the best. We would just bring enough bottles for the day at the park, and bring the little formula sorters to have our formula sorted for him. Plus bring bottles of water to mix it all with. It worked well.

I brought enough for a day. I would prefill the bottles with water in the room and then use the little sorter cup for the formula and just mix as needed. We stayed in a villa so I would just run them through the dishwasher each night, but if not a tee towel and a bottle brush and some dish soap would work fine. The baby care centers have sinks just for bottles so I would pop in there and rinse out the used bottles as needed so they didn't get that warm/smelly formula odor. It really was much easier than I thought with the baby.

Agree with the others on bringing enough bottles for one day and one extra & washing them each night. I brought a bottle brush and a very small bottle of Palmolive to wash the bottles. After washing, I just set them on a towel to dry overnight.

I also brought 1 set of ready to use bottles for back up. Personally, I preferred to use the ready to use bottles for the airplane. For some reason, I thought I'd have less trouble going through security.

Thanks, everyone. I should've clarified that I meant washing bottles in the room; we will just rinse them out when we're away from the resort.

I was leaning toward bringing enough for a day, so thanks for confirming! :goodvibes

Definitely enough for a day, maybe an extra just in case. I know some bottles have lots of parts, so in case a part gets lost or forgotten (or worse a bottle gets lost or forgotten), I'd bring an extra so that you don't have to try to wash in a park bathroom.

If you get a microwave for your room, you could also buy a pack of medela quick clean steamer bags (5 bags for ~$7 and each bag can be used 20 times).

We always used the Playtex nurser bottles with the liners when we traveled to DW. I took a couple bottles into the parks with extra liners and nipples and we were set for the day. Then I just hand washed everything at night.
Have a wonderful trip!
