Bringing an extra person for ADR?

I have an ADR for 'Ohana the night before the Princess Half Marathon. Stupidly when I made the ressie I forgot to add my mom. Just called Disney dining and they don't have anything to accomodate a party of 7 rather than a party of 6. Do you think if we show up for our scheduled time with an extra person we will still be able to get a table? I hate to give up 'Ohana. We have never been there and I was really looking forward to dining there. Plus my mom won't have a park pass for that day.

The problem is the table size. Lots of tables for 6. But for 7 people they would have to seat you at an 8 top. Not so many of those. If you just show up they may not be able to seat you, or might have to split your party to do it. Just keep trying to get the ADR. Something may turn up.

Thanks. I'll keep calling. Even when I make our ADRs for the 6 of us it usually says we could be split up, but we never have.

'Ohana is currently one of the most popular restaurants in DW. If its at capacity (fire code limit) they won't be able to seat any extra people. Also, as a PP mentioned, you will need a larger sized table.

Keep checking online - multiple times a day - to see if something comes up. Since it is a credit card guarantee venue, people who change their minds are more likely to cancel to avoid the $10 per person penalty. Also, you might have to be flexible about the res time.

Good luck!

1) Disney is getting wise to the "but, they decided to join us" trick.
2) People can't always get the ADR they want.
3) So, they under-count to get a table.
4) Then, they show up with "unexpected" additional people.
5) In a team meeting, CM's have been told to warn guests against this.
6) If there is room, WDW will not turn away revenue.
7) But, if busy, they will turn away the additions.
8) Go ahead any arrive with the extras, if you like.
9) Just be prepared to have someone stand around while you eat.

NOTE: Twice I picked up shifts as a host or seater. On both days,
I turned away people who showed up as extra people. To me, it was
just rude to try to squeeze in extras. Oh well, several folks ended
up eating elsewhere, while the original ADR people sat and ate.

We have a dinner ressie. I am definately flexible about the times. The CM I spoke to on the phone looked at all times possible. It won't be our last trip to Disney. I will keep looking online and calling to see if anything opens up. Is it a credit card hold for the breakfast character meal?

Yes, any meal at 'Ohana requires a credit card hold.

One item about the credit card holds that came out is that if you book for 6 and you show up with 7 and they will not seat #7, we do have a report from someone who said that if you show up for the meal, check in, and then decide to leave without ordering, that goes down as a no-show. So your entire party may not be able to decide to go somewhere else without incurring a $60 fee.

Thanks for the info. I made all my ADRs on line and just didn't remember putting in my cc info. I guess I should just cancell the ressie.

If you made the reservation before October 26, keep it. The credit card hold would not be applicable in that case.

Actually I made it on Sept 9th. I thought I did it much later than that. My memory is really slipping.
