at what age is it ok to bring a friend along on a cruise. my 5 yr old has a close friend and her family is ok with her going with us--i'm a bit concerned this may be too young--of course we would get the appropriate documentation (medical release, release for her to travel with us etc)

How long is your cruise? Most kids at that age would do okay for maybe a 3-night or perhaps even a 4-night cruise, but any longer than that and she may miss mommy and daddy too much. How much time has she ever spent away from her parents? The last thing you want is a homesick kid when you're in the middle of the ocean.

Tough call, only you and her family know if she's ready for such a big step.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise! :)

Last year we brought my daughters friend with us for 3 days at Sesame place, she was 2 and he is 3....they had a good time together, he is not a clingy type kid so he wasn't crying for mommy, but I don't know if I would have brought him on a 7 day cruise...
