Bringing a Camcorder to Disney...

Hey everyone. My cousin will be going to Disney for the first time for her 3rd birthday. Me, being a Film Production Major at UCF, want to videotape everything! But that also means I want to use a nice camcorder. I'm in the market right now for a Prosumer camcorder... I am considering the Canon XH A1

(any other recommendations, BTW???).
However, as a college student, it's a bit of a splurge, but a necessity for my field. So, if I am shelling out that kind of dough, I want to be able to use it on family vacations or events also. So, my question is... will there be any problem if I attempt to bring and use a prosumer camera like I listed above? Has anyone had any experiences with nicer equipment that they'd like to share? Any suggestions on how I should handle things?

I'm not quite sure I understand what your asking... do you mean is it safe? If so the only concern I would have is the possibility of the unit getting wet. And sometimes the water can pop up from places you don't expect (if you get on the magic carpet ride there is a chance you'll be sprayed with water)... I've seen people with high end camcorder all over the place so it isn't like you'll stick out like a sore thumb if thats your concern... my only recommendation is that you make sure to get and use a good mic with the camcorder. The sounds are much more critical at Disney than they would be at birthday party as far as capturing the mood of the park, nothing screams home movie more than sound the quality of a AM radio in a can.
