Bring us a Shrubbery!! May 25-June 1, 2007!!

I feel that I'm on the edge with you. I had a big Monday kind of day yesterday - after two years of being totally on time and prepared for preschool, the LAST DAY EVER I forgot their backpacks. They swim within school, so they had to have them. I had planned on just sticking around until I was supposed to watch the last swim day, but had to run home. I found a psychotic mouse in my garage, dealt with that, then went back with the backpacks, but forgot my own purse, so that I had no money for lunch or ID or anything. Yeah.

My aunt flew in last night from UT, and that was fine. We went to the mall and picked up the teachers' end-of-year gifts, and today the kids had their annual check ups with shots. :(

So, I've been concentrating more on the end-of-school stuff than the trip stuff, so I have not done any more packing, laundry, etc. Yikes!:scared1:

(Sorry for the hijack - just had to vent!) :sad2:

No apologies necessary - I just hope that today was a better day for you than bad ol' Monday.

Hey Brenda!!! Just got back and boy the crowds were crazy!! Lines were not long, just a lot of people standing around doing nothing. Lots of school groups. The weather was wonderful!! Mid 80's and sunny. It was nice to go and not break a sweat running around. I hope you have a fantastic trip. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!!! Safe travels and we will see you when you get back!

Hey there DD!! I was thinking about you last week - happy belated birthday and I hope this means you had a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks for popping back in - keep the thread warm for me while we're MIA. Or....you could start your own trippie. ;)

Oh Arkansas is just fantastic! (man I really wish sarcasm came across better in type)

Hopefully with all of trip reports and food pictures, I'll have more than enough to hold me over and then some before my trip to WDW.

Note to self...never ask andiepie about Arkansas ever again. ;)

So when is your next WDW trip? I suggest October! :goodvibes

Whooohooo a call from V&A what a way to make your day brighter or should I say magical? :rotfl2:

You can say both! :thumbsup2

I'm having such a hard time finding time (or energy) to post these days, so I wanted to make sure to tell you Bye! before you left. Here's hoping you have a magical and memorable trip filled with all the things you love! You deserve it! And I can't wait to hear all about it! (Is that enough exclamation points?)
Have fun! :)

Thanks so much Lynn! You have a wonderful trip, too, and feel better soon!

Wow - I can't believe that I got so far behind with this report! I had seven pages to read, I really have to do better when it comes to keeping up to date. :surfweb: I realised this evening that it's nearly time for you to leave for your shrubbery trip so I wanted to be sure to wish you bon voyage. Enjoy yourselves, have fun with Plankton, and take plenty of pictures :)

Looking forward to having three of your reports to read when you get back!:flower3:

Thank you so much! We'll do our best to take lots of pics and include lots of food porn for everyone. You're still going to V&A on your trip aren't you? You'll need a whole lotta pictures...:goodvibes

Ashamed to say that I've gotten behind on this thread. Really, the "Grimace" photo on Argie Bargie puts me into a fit of giggles everytime I think about it. My children are concerned.

That's great...:rotfl2:

I haven't read the entire thread (up to page 17! PROMISE! I'll be all caught up before you get back!), but I wanted to make sure you remembered about getting your 'do done before you go to V&A's. I don't remember what salon you went to in October - but I DO remember you didn't take a picture of the back of your head - hint, hint, hint.

Just trying to be Suzy Helpershoes, ya know?

Sadly I am stuck doing my own hair for next week's dinner at V&A. :scared1:

The spa at SSR doesn't have a salon so it's going to be up to me to try to make me look less like me...and that's not a guarantee of good results. ;)

Just keep your fingers crossed that I don't end up making myself look like Alice the Goon. :rotfl2:

How fun for you! Have a wonderful trip! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!

Thanks Kim and you have a great trip, too. Looks like this summer will be filled with lots of reading and writing on the DIS. :thumbsup2

Gah! Pictures of foie gras dance in my head!

    (Ok, it's a banana. Work with me.)

I got my Castaway Club card in the mail, too. It only reminds me that I'm
long overdue for a Disney Cruise. If you want real envy, my friends went
on the Trans-Atlantic crossing, and then they're doing the first Med cruise,
back to back. :yay:

I've been thinking of foie gras ever since Michelle posted that picture. ;)

I wanted to take a Med. cruise so badly but the funds were not available...maybe another time...on a less expensive cruise line. :confused3 I hope your friends are having a great time. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Unless you smash in your face with a cast iron skillet, cut your hair so you can have the infamous frizzy combover, and grow 2 feet taller, me thinks you are safe! I have no doubt you will look lovely. :goodvibes

I just posted for the first time on your ABOF? and THEN I realized THIS is where all the ACTION was and then when I tried to read all 33 pages in about 10 minutes, I realized I better just skip to the end, say thanks for some good readin'. AND to tell you that my dd4 saw your pictures posted and asked "Mummy, who are they?" and when I answered, "Oh honey, those are just some people that I don't know". She looked again and said "That lady looks nice. But didn't you say you were going to make supper Mummy? When Mummy? When??"
But at least I'll catch you before your trip to say have a great time! I'm booking the Mandara Spa in Sept because of you (with all my domestic duties stressing me out you can see I'll need it!)

I totally agree (although, if you're able to do all that, I would like a picture. It sounds like Disney magic going totally, terribly wrong). Besides, you have that slammin' dress that's going to make the Mr. look like this ---->:worship: over your beauty.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I've actually got a cast iron skillet in the kitchen (we never cook with it now that I think about it...). Anyway, thanks for the moral support ...

Woo hoo!! Another new reader! :yay:

Thanks for taking the time to think about reading...;) It's a lot of chatter for the most part, but that's half the fun of these anyway, dontcha think? ;)

If I may be Sirius for a moment - couldn't resist the pun - thank you very much for reading and posting. I appreciate it...I really do. :goodvibes

I guess your DD saw a picture of me on a good day and not a picture of the Grimace? :lmao: :lmao:

You will love Mandara Spa...I'm making sure we take lots of pictures this time around. :thumbsup2

Thanks again for taking the time to read and post (both here and the Argie 'cause I know that's a lot of reading) - looking forward to hearing more from you. Your post had me :rotfl2: and then your Napoleon Dynamite picture had me :lmao: and then I had to take a bathroom break for fear that my bladder would burst.

Ahhh, good times. :goodvibes

Thanks Twingle, and let me say...if anyone could make Disney magic go horribly wrong it would be me. It's a gift I have...:rolleyes1

I'm hopin' to knock the man's socks off...while he's still wearing shoes! :lmao:

When you say "Sirius", do you mean Stubby Boardman?

Ya know, you could always venture over to Bibbi Bobbity Boutique in Downtown Disney to get your do' done. It is a "salon", of sorts. But, then, so is Main Street Barber shop, if I wanted to really stretch my imagination.

Heh heh heh...I was definitely making a Harry Potter reference, but I do not subscribe to the theory that Stubby Boardman is Regulus Black.

Just think... in another 8 weeks or so we will have HP7 in our greedy, grasping hands!

I wish I'd thought of BBB - why don't they have a salon like that for women? I'd go...maybe...just once... ;)

BTW, Twingle the explanation for your avatar cracks me up every time I read it. :rotfl2:

AH HEM - begging your pardon missy, but there are PLENTY of women that still want to get in touch with their BBB side, and have appointments scheduled for their upcoming trip in October.

Not that I know anything about that.

Looking forward to the new Harry Potter book definately, and I admit I'm really hoping for a few "spoilers" to leak out. I love all the crazy rumors that start swirling about in the weeks before the sale.

And as for my avatar, do you know how hard it is to find an avatar that says:sorcerer-mickey-fan-disney-loving-former-paralegal-stay-at-home-mommy-to-three-but-still-hip-and-can-remember-life-before-said-children-fun-loving-sarcastic-AND-I-make-a-mean-box-of-kraft-mac-and-cheese?

That's hard to say and write, let alone find a picture to describe.

So.... have you started packing yet? :goodvibes You will be in WDW...

...in less than 2 DAYS!!!

Only 1 more day of work, right? Or, are you off tomorrow?

Does BBB provide services to the 12 and over crowd? If I'd known that I would have gone to dinner next week dressed as Belle.

So you'll be taking pictures, right? ;)

I never mind the spoilers either, for me it's part of the fun. And since no one has the book who really knows what a spoiler is or isn't until it's released for sale?

I'm going to miss all the speculation once this book is released and I won't really have a reason to keep checking out the Leaky Cauldron every day because I really only go there for news about the books in the first place.

**Cue the side comment: Get a life.... :rotfl2:

I do now. ;)

After reading that, I feel like you and I both need a drink...or six. :rotfl2:

Hey Michelle! No packing yet...although I'm going to try to get some pre-packing done tonight since Jay has to work late.

We're both working tomorrow but we're each going to try to leave a little early so that we can get the important stuff taken care of.

And then..Friday morning we're leavin' on a jet plane...:thumbsup2

Woohoo! If you use FDM, you're there! :)

(I liked the Fuzzy Harry Potter math edit, BTW...) ;)

I have my copy pre-ordered and it SHOULD arrive on the release date. Woohoo!

Oh, yes, indeed BBB will "service" (to use your term, and it's nine shades of wrong mental imaging) any princess over the approximate age of 3! You'd have to bring your own Belle dress, because as lovely and skinny as you are, I don't believe you would fit into the largest Belle dress they have (which is a childs 10-12, if memory serves). You'd hate to have to cover your naughty bits with Plankton, wouldn't you? Although the photos would be priceless.

If I were to go to BBB in October (October 22-28, mind you), and if I WERE to take photos, do you think I'd post them on the internets for all the world to see?

Of course!

You mean you think J.K. Rowling is going to tie everything up in a nice little bundle for us in HP7? AND, I will send you a lovely gift of . . . well . . . nothing, if you can tell me what webmaster "wed" what webmistress on April Fools Day, 2006. Let's SEE how much of a life you have!

After reading that, I feel like you and I both need a drink...or six. :rotfl2

Please, please, please, don't drink six drinks (a cider drink, a whiskey drink, a lager drink . . . ) while you pack. You may end up with seven pairs of pants and no shirts.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I've actually got a cast iron skillet in the kitchen (we never cook with it now that I think about it...). Anyway, thanks for the moral support ...

 Absolutely. You, your DH, and Plankton will look fabulous darling. You are bringing Plankton, yes?

2 days and not packed. You are living on the egde! :scared1:

Fuzzy Harry Potter Math seemed appropriate since I somehow shaved two weeks off the arrival time in my original post. WE WISH!!!

Pre-ordered here, too. Too bad you fine HP fans don't live a bit closer to the armpit of the Midwest - Potter Party 2 is going down in my backyard the night of the release!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's just wrong! I love it! :lmao:

All laughter bottled up for just a moment...I had no idea that they would do that stuff for adults! Color me clueless.

A Plankton bikini might be kind of interesting in a very sick and twisted way. Not sure that would cut it for the dress code at V&A, though. :lmao:

Of course!

Excellent! I for one will be looking forward to seeing them. :goodvibes

You mean you think J.K. Rowling is going to tie everything up in a nice little bundle for us in HP7?

Nice neat package...no that's not what I meant. I was thinking more along the lines of Does Hary Live or Die? Will Moldy-Voldie Finally be Defeated? Which Even More Evil Leader Will Rise to Become Moldy-Voldie II? Is Harry a Horcrux? And Please Tell Me That Hagrid's Mother's Name Wasn't Fistula???

AND, I will send you a lovely gift of . . . well . . . nothing, if you can tell me what webmaster "wed" what webmistress on April Fools Day, 2006. Let's SEE how much of a life you have!

Please send that lovely nothing FEDEX as I will be unavailable after midnight CST tomorrow.

The answer and final proof of high octane dorkiness: Melissa and Emerson! :thumbsup2

Please, please, please, don't drink six drinks (a cider drink, a whiskey drink, a lager drink . . . ) while you pack. You may end up with seven pairs of pants and no shirts.

:rotfl2: I'm going to limit myself to one glass of Moscato; God knows that no one wants me to show up at WDW as Shirtless Girl. :lmao:

 Absolutely. You, your DH, and Plankton will look fabulous darling. You are bringing Plankton, yes?

Thanks. :flower3:

Yes, Plankton should be coming with us. I wanted to get him a bow-tie but I seem to have run out of time... perhaps I can find something at DTD this weekend.

2 days and not packed. You are living on the egde! :scared1:

I'll admit it...I'm starting to get nervous. But since it's just the two of us we actually can pack pretty quickly so I think we'll be OK. And if I just happen to forget something...well I guess we'll have to do some shopping, won't we? ;)

In many ways I am high maintenance...I know it; I admit it; and I enjoy it.

But in other ways I like to think I make things refreshingly easy for the hubby. For instance, I do not expect him to read my mind; I do not expect jewlery on every holiday and / or birthday; we don't even exchange gifts on Valentines Day.

But every now and then, I exact a price.

Last night I told Jay - because that's how it works; don't hint - it will go right over your man's head - that I wanted flowers on the table when we arrived at Victoria and Albert's Tuesday night.

Here's how the conversation progressed from that point:

Jason: "We won't be able to take them home with us on Friday."

Me: "I know, but we'll be able to enjoy them during dinner and for the rest of our stay at SSR."

Jason: "I don't know where to get flowers in Florida."

Me: **SIGH** "Just call the restaurant and tell them what you want. They'll take care of the rest."

Jason: "I don't know what kind of flowers to get."

Me: "Well, live is always a good start. And you don't get off easy by ordering red roses - that's boring."

Jason: "WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

He hates doing stuff like this - it's got something to do with making a decision.

Me: "Remember what Nancy said? Someone call a Wahmbulance! I'd like something soft and elegant - not too pastel and not too loud - a french wildflower kind of look. Does that help?"

Jason: "No."

So, dear friends your guess is as good as mine whether or not Jay did order flowers as I requested. I left a business card for V&A with the direct number of their Guest Services Manager, but did he call? :confused3 Jay hates the telephone and he hates making decisions so I'm thinking my chances of seeing a lovely romantic bouquet at V&A are pretty slim. But a girl can always hope, right? :goodvibes

Thanks to all of you who have been reading and / or posting along with me since I started this. It's been so much fun sharing the planning and excitement with you all. If I don't make it back here before we leave on Friday morning...everyone have a safe and fantastic holiday weekend and feel free to chat amongst yourselves while we're gone.

Talk Harry Potter...discuss the new POTC movie...debate the merits of hot dogs versus bratwurst.

I'll see you all in June - thanks for taking the pre-trip ride with us!

Brenda :goodvibes

BYE! Have a great time! Leave some happy pixie dust at SSR for me! I can't wait to hear all about it.
