Bring us a Shrubbery!! May 25-June 1, 2007!!

Does Handsome Pete know he didn't make an appearance until page 3?

What IS it with cats and suitcases, anyway?

I think Pete's attitude would be - Save the Best for Last!! ;)

I'm convinced he parks himself on top of the suitcase for one of two reasons -

1) he thinks he can sneak in when we're not looking, and thus share in the adventure; or

2) he is convinced that his "cute-kitty-staredown" will intimidate us enough to make us change our plans.

Cats...don't you just love them?

Brenda, When is DH Birthday? Is he a Taurean too? I am May 12th and fit my Taurus profile perfectly. DH is an Aries. We have a very interesting relationship. You know the thing with magnets and their poles that you learned in school? Yep, that's us. We love to pick a fight but just with each other. When it comes to outsiders we band together like the Beatles -Pre Yoko. Just from reading your TR's it sound like Jay fits his astrological profile too! Take a look:
The Bull
April 21 to May 21

Traditional
Taurus Traits:

Patient and reliable
Warmhearted and loving
Persistent and determined
Placid and security loving

On the dark side....

Jealous and possessive
Resentful and inflexible
Self-indulgent and greedy

The Taurean's characteristics are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength of will - no one will ever drive them, but they will willingly and loyally follow a leader they trust. They are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace, possessing all the best qualities of the bourgeoisie. As they have a sense of material values and physical possessions, respect for property and a horror of falling into debt, they will do everything in their power to maintain the security of the status quo and be somewhat hostile to change.

Mentally, they are keen-witted and practical more often than intellectual, but apt to become fixed in their opinions through their preference for following accepted and reliable patterns of experience. Their character is generally dependable, steadfast, prudent, just, firm and unshaken in the face of difficulties. Their vices arise from their virtues, going to extremes on occasion, such as sometimes being too slavish to the conventions they admire.

On rare occasions a Taurean may be obstinately and exasperatingly self-righteous, unoriginal, rigid, ultraconservative, argumentative, querulous bores, stuck in a self-centered rut. They may develop a brooding resentment through nursing a series of injuries received and, whether their characters are positive or negative, they need someone to stroke their egos with a frequent, "Well Done!" Most Taureans are not this extreme though.

They are faithful and generous friends with a great capacity for affection, but rarely make friends with anyone outside their social rank, to which they are ordinarily excessively faithful. In the main, they are gentle, even tempered, good natured, modest and slow to anger, disliking quarreling and avoiding ill-feeling. If they are provoked, however, they can explode into violent outbursts of ferocious anger in which they seem to lose all self-control. Equally unexpected are their occasional sallies into humor and exhibitions of fun.

Although their physical appearance may belie it, they have a strong aesthetic taste, enjoying art, for which they may have a talent, beauty (recoiling from anything sordid or ugly) and music. They may have a strong, sometimes unconventional, religious faith. Allied to their taste for all things beautiful is a love for the good things of life pleasure, comfort, luxury and good food and wine and they may have to resist the temptation to over indulgence, leading to drunkenness, gross sensuality, and covetousness.

:offtopic: Sorry- Ok, now on with the show.

Jason's birthday is May 10th - he is totally Taurus.

I like to tease him that with him being an earth sign and me being an air sign that together we create a Dust Bowl! :lmao:

Thanks for sharing the info - it's always fun to read that stuff. If you feel like posting anything about Libras and why they should never be paired with a Taurus, why go right ahead! ;)

I love the title, I saw Spamalot in December in NYC and laughed so hard. The guy behind my mother was really laughing loud or so I thought. As we were leaving my mother leans over and says she couldn't tell who was having more fun me or the guy behind her.:lmao:
Looking forward to reading about your adventure.

Puggymom - Hello and thanks for stopping by! Your dogs are adorable, by the way. I had an aunt who loved pugs and she always had at least two in her house at any given time.

Isn't Spamalot great? I can't wait to see it again - I don't think we'll ever get tired of it. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the information - and you even edited your post to add my birthday... thanks! :flower3:

Now I feel like singing:

I feel witty,
Oh, so witty,
And nitty and gritty and a fright...

Hehehehe...what can I say? It's really windy outside and when I came back in from lunch I got a faceful of dirt from the empty parking lot next door.

But the book says I'm witty so it must be true! ;)

Arthur Miller, huh? I give him two thumbs up for the Crucible but I just can't stand Death of a Salesman. But who am I to criticize? The last time I bothered to check - about 5 minutes ago, actually - no one's awarded me a Pulitzer Prize.

:lmao: :lmao:

Pugs are like potatoe chips, you can't just stop at one.pug: pug:

So, since the hubby is using the primary computer this evening I'm going to play around over here for a bit rather than update the Argie-Bargie. Jay has to work late tomorrow night and then he has to go out of town on Wednesday, so I'll have two straight evenings of uninterrupted computer time to update the October trippie.

Is anyone else a menu freak? I love to look at the menus of the restaurants we have ADRs at and think about what I'm going to order...especially when I'm sitting at my desk at work eating yogurt or soup or McDonalds (shame on me for eating that crap, but I'm addicted to junk food).

Today I was thinking about Raglan Road again...the most recent menu on All Ears is from last March and that was not the menu we had in October. I know because I'd wanted to order the Salmon Forest for a shared appetizer that night (described thusly: forks of Irish smoked salmon and cream cheese served with blinis). It sure sounded yummy but it was not meant to be.

I guess we can stick with the Dalkey Duo - those were pretty good, especially with beer! We've already decided that we're not trying any whisky / whiskey on this visit - we're sticking with beer only this time. The restaurant offered 4 different beer flights when we were last there...I wonder how Jay and I would fare if we tried all four of them? :scared:

I know I'll order the fish and chips again - it was really good. And somehow we're going to have to save room for that bread and butter pudding...I'm getting all droolie just thinking about it.

It's funny - I never used to like bread pudding. And then I tried a bread pudding souffle at Commanders Palace in New Orleans a few years ago and experienced taste nirvana. Now, much to my parents slack-jawed disbelief, I will occassionally order it for dessert. Shocking!!

I have to admit, though, that there are two other dessert items that look rather appealing: the Bailey's Coffee Cream Pot (Think tiramisu with an Irish twist) and the Dunbrody Kiss, which must be a surprise because no explanation has been provided.

A mystery dessert...hmmmmm...do we chance it?

Yes Ms Brenda. I managed to snag a few of the menus on our cruise and have been trying to figure out how many times I can have Mango Soup this October.

You're going to have it every day and you'll like it, or the Grimace will be paying you a visit! :lmao:

Hey, did you read my fabulous post on the last page where I introduced Jay and me? Not that you really need it, but it is kinda funny, if I say so myself.

Hi, Super Nintendo Chalmers!

My name is Crystal, and I am a menu freak.

Now, notice that I never actually EAT at any of the real restaurants, but I can tell you what I would order at each one!

Brenda, I have a great recipe for a Chocolate bread pudding. Very easy to make and very yummy! I will send it to you tonight. I am going to send myself an email reminding myself for myself to...:surfweb: Ok, back on track now.Anywho, I will get it to you.

Oh that would be wonderful, thanks so much! And in exchange, if you like, I'd be willing to share my sticky toffee pudding recipe. It's artery-clogging goodness at its very finest. ;)

Would you possibly mind posting the recipes here? I'd love to see/try them, too! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?! :rotfl2:

Raglan Road update: Talked with the hubby last night about the drinking / dessert dilemma. As usual Jay cut right to the chase:

"Beer flight #1 gets paired with the appetizer selection; Beer flight #2 pairs with the entree; Beer flight #3 pairs with first dessert; and Beer flight #4 pairs with second dessert. Hobbits have second breakfast, we have second dessert. Problem solved."

How can I argue with that? :lmao:

I'm assuming that we'll head over to Epcot on Saturday morning...but we will not be requesting a wake-up call. ;)

On a different menu note, I have to figure out a way to get us over to Ghiradelli on this trip. Would you believe that we've never shared a diet devastating delectation here? I take full responsibility for this - I can't eat the kind of stuff they serve in really hot weather, especially during the day. So we've always tried to go at night, only to find 20,000 people had the same brilliant idea.

I'm thinking that on the day we arrive we should grab a quick bite to eat at DTD and then follow it up with a belt-blasting selection from the ice cream parlor. Won't my swimsuit look great on me after that? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Looking at their current menu I think I already know what Jay is going to want:

Espresso Escape - Two scoops of espresso chip ice cream, dark chocolate hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and a square of Espresso Escape Intense Dark chocolate.

I will probably opt for something like this:

Warm Brownie Sundae - A scoop of premium vanilla ice cream paired with warm Ghirardelli double chocolate brownie smothered with hot fudge sauce and topped with whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry.

HOLD THE ALMONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT - HOLD THE ALMONDS OR I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HORRIBLE EVENTS THAT MAY UNFOLD WITH ASTONISHING RAPIDITY IN YOUR ICE CREAM PARLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that may seem extreme, but sometimes you really have to drive home the point about the nuts, even when you are nuts!! ;)

Would you possibly mind posting the recipes here? I'd love to see/try them, too! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?! :rotfl2:

I don't have a problem with that, but the sticky toffee recipe is pretty lengthy - consider yourself warned!! ;)

Has anyone here tried their spa? I am a little underwhelmed by their selection and their prices but it's so convenient that I really wanted to give it a try.

They offer a discount on hydro-massage therapies to DVC members but I'm not sure if Jay or I would enjoy that kind of treatment. If anyone reading this can supply some advice I'd sure appreciate it.

Otherwise I may just have to land us on the bus over to the Swolphin and a morning at the Mandara...which I love love love love love love love love!!!!!!!

Hey oybolshoi,
I totally know what you mean about being a menu freak. I look at the menus all the time and my family thinks I'm nuts but I just tell them that I think it is fun and I don't care what they think. Keep all the Pre-TR and Tr goodness coming. Can't wait to read more. Bye
