Just back from 9 days at CBR.

Every time we arrived at a different resort (we dined at AKL and Poly twice each), we were asked for a photo ID at the gate, along with the PS #.

That was not the case last year. Just be sure that someone in your group has a photo ID at all times, and keep a list of your PS #s in your wallet.

Really? We just got back on Monday, we ate at the Poly, AKL, WL and CR and were never asked for id or a ps#. I wonder if it's because it was much more crowded when you were there and they wanted to make sure people weren't parking in the resort lots.

Dad was asked at Poly the first time, but not the second time. Guess that it just depends on the guard.

dcgrumpy--we just got back Monday too! Hmm, maybe my Italian husband looks middle eastern and they are profiling? (I am as pale, blonde American as they come!)

I did not mind providing the ID, I am just glad we had it readily available, since I did not know it would be required.

It's good advice. They will ask anyone at any time for photo I.D. If you tell the guard you need to park at the resort for a meal, they are very likely to ask you for a PS. I've never had trouble with it, just have experienced it quite often. On those ocassions when I don't have a PS (walking in) or the guard can't possibly have it, because I just made the PS, I've not had a problem. But do be prepared.

I do not understand why people in general do not carry photo id with them at all times. Once I got my drivers liscense my parents always told me to make sure I had photo ID on me at all times no matter where I am. I guess that just stayed with me because now at 33yrs I do not leave the house without my wallet which of course includes photo ID.

That is funny, I guess it's what the others said, it depends on the guard.

Tiffany--It makes all the sense in the world, but it all depends on what you are used to. NJ does not require photo driver's licenses(altho I understand they will soon). Why do you think the 9-11 terrorists got their licenses in my state?

I always carry mine, habit and I have occasionally needed it when my AP dosen't scan. We were at wdw for a week in November and visited quite a few resorts for meals. We we were never asked for photo id.

Gee, I'm starting to take it personally that we were asked for photo ID. I always take my passport when traveling anywhere. There were signs at resort gates requesting photo ID.

That is interesting. I did not know that there were states that did not require pictures on their driver licenses. You learn something new every day I guess.:earsboy:

I recall after 9/11 we had to show id everywhere.... but, not now. We just got back from WDW, yesterday, and it was a very busy TG week. We visited AKL and WL by car, and neither time did the guard say anything more than "enjoy your meal."

I suppose our GF parking pass in our windshield was identification enough. Barbeml. Was your resort parking pass clearly visable?

Yes, we showed our CBR permit each time. By far the strictest was the Polynesian, which I suspect is due to parking abuse. Like I said, I don't blame them for that.

Interestingly, we were told by our Dreams Unlimited agent that we absolutely had to have a photo ID for our Keys to the Kingdom Tour. No one asked for it there!

I have found that it depends on where I'm staying. One time we were staying at All Star Movies, we went to The Poly for dinner. When we reached the guard shack the guard said "So, Mr. All Star, what can I do for you?" Then he asked for ID, wrote down my licence number, gave me the 3 hr pass and a warning that I would be towed if parked longer than 3 hrs.
The next trip we were at the Beach Club, went to the Poly for the dinner. The guard just waved us on.
That isn't the only time I've noticed it. It seems that if I'm at a Value or Mod. they treat you with suspicion, but not if I'm at a Deluxe.

I was at ASMo last week. Actually this is the first time since 9/11 that they didn't ask for ID or give us a parking pass at the Poly.
