You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know Dear who much I love you
So please don't take my sunshine away!

You know what's funny?? I said the same thing in 1985 when I moved to sunny beautiful California!! Wouldn't you know, Michigan had mild winters for 10 years (the time I was gone!) I got snookered into moving back here & than WHAAMO, we got hit with bad winters again! WAAAHHHHH!!!! I want to move back to California again!! :(

So Telly, once you get to FL, we'll start having milder winters!! Woo Hoo!! Thanks Sweetie!! ;)

LOL Michetta :teeth: Oh...so now you guys can't wait for me to move eh?! Now I see how Michigan stick together... They don't! JK. :teeth: You guys trying to get me out of here fast eh? Oh OK..just wait until I visit Michigan during winter, I won't bring you guys any warm sunny weather. :p I'll keep the :sunny: in Fl.

I didn't know you used to live in Cali. How was it? Did you like it? Which part? Stay warm! :)

I lived in Baldwin Park, (neighboring West Covina) which is about 20 miles N.E. of Los Angeles. Loved it too!! It was so beautiful. I could see the mountains out my kitchen window. Flowers bloomed all year, always green....not too humid. Just a paradise. (Unless you want to buy a home that is....) I had a tiny condo but once we started having children, it was impossible to stay there, since we couldn't afford a home & for me to stay home. So...back to MI we came! (Well, I came "back" but my DH was a California native!) Poor guy!

Been there done those Michigan winters and I ain't gonna do them no more. We have lived in north of Orlando for a little over a year now and love it.

*Fantasia*, what part of Michigan. We came from a little town north of Grand Rapids on the West side of Michigan. But I have also lived in Lansing and Kalamazoo. You will love it here. Not only will you be close to WDW but it's hard to believe that a place this beautiful exists. I can't help but grin every time I look at a palm tree (which means I grin alot). Good luck with your move.

Good luck with your move.:Pinkbounc :bounce: I would move to a warmer climate in a minute, but my husband's job won't allow it!:( The only snow I like is when I go to the mountains, other than that I could do without snow FOREVER!!!!!

Well, I moved from NY to Georgia, mostly for the cost of living but it is very mild compared to the North, we usually are only 10 degrees lower than Orlando's temps. Not bad BUT....

I'M STILL MOVING TO FLORIDA IN 2005!!!! :bounce: I just love Orlando, mostly because it's flat, nice and there are LOTS of New Yorkers there! I have to hold on till Michael gets out of school but after that Georgia will be nowhere but in my REAR VIEW MIRROR!! SEEEEEYA!!
:wave2:

ghshoemate, I'm in Troy. I've been to Grand Rapids where my late husband went for college (GVSU). I've been to Grand Haven too. We used to live in Battle Creek for a year, then moved back to Detroit area. I'm glad you love it there. I am sure I am going to love it too. I've been wanting to move there and now is my chance.

I want to start fresh, I want a new life, I am a new better me, I want to start it in Orlando. Michigan during winter is way too gloomy for me. It's always cloudy, over cast and cold. This weather doesn't help me when I am feeling down. At least if I am feeling down and depress, at least I am close enough to Disney/Universal where for a moment I can forget about my troubles and worries and at least the sunshine will bring some light into some of my darkest times.

I am so happy for you Robin! Maybe we will see you there in Orlando! Maybe we can hang out in Disney or something.

Thanks guys for your well wishes! I just hope I am making the right move.

It sounds like you have things well planned out and are moving for the right reasons. There is so much to do down here, you will stay very busy. What area are you looking at moving to? The funny thing is my family back in Michigan, every chance they get they ask me if I miss Michigan. I just laugh...and laugh...and laugh some more. Once you live here, you would have to be crazy to miss Michigan. And you will get people that ask you about the heat....Oh it's so hot down there how can you stand it. My answers is always...I would rather deal with heat and have to spend time in the airconditioned house, stores and the pool then have to go outside in freezing temperatures, shoveling the walk, shovel the drive way, shovel the car off so you can get in to start it up and let it run for 20 monutes just to get the ice off the windshield. Heat sounds pretty good to me.....that usually shuts them up.

We have a few bugs and lizards down here that we didn't have in Michigan but they take nothing to get used to. And they are way more afraid of you then you will be of them.

You have picked a wonderful place to start over. Your children will have a great time here. There is so much to do and see.

Im just gonna sit back and waite for global warming

Ginger...exactly!! I would rather take the hot weathe than the freezing weather. We can always stay somewhere that is airconditioned or go for a nice swim or even just a dip in the pool. AHHHH...no more going to the tanning booth! I am going to get my natural tan finally!

I do better with the heat than with the cold. I don't like layers and layers of clothes. I like to wear my shorts and my tank top and I am happy!

Definitely...there is so much to see and so much to do down there. I will never get bored. I don't like the hussle and bustle, but I think Orlando is more of my pace. Not too slow nor too fast. I keep hearing Hunter's Creek from most of the DISers here. Sounds like its the place to be. BUT...what other areas that are just as nice as Hunter's Creek? I heard Metrowest is nice too and Winter Park is just as nice. Any suggestions you may have? Thanks!

Pop Daddy, that might be a while. Stay warm then. :)
