Bring it down a notch

This one does double duty freshening up the bathroom...

I do love pumpkins and the associated spices, but I completely agree that it's way overblown. I have to appreciate the parodies people posted, though--very clever!

My big issue is, they're pushing this stuff now. I wouldn't have minded so much, back when I lived in the Northeast--the air is getting a touch of a chill right about now, your thoughts are turning to fall. However, we moved to North Carolina last year. "Growing cooler" down here means a high of 85 versus 95. The A/C is on, I'm wearing shorts, 2 minutes outside makes me break into a sweat. I'm not feeling the least bit "pumpkiny". Although I could probably be talked into trying the pumpkin ice cream at the local shop.

Long about November, I'd be happy to make pumpkin bread, and maybe a pie or two. Maybe even burn a spicy-scented candle.

I love pumpkin stuff, especially the dry pumpkin spice creamer but haven't been able to find it yet. :(

I like making pumpkin bread and muffins at this time of the year, and I like pumpkin pie, and cream cheese, pumpkin K-cups and hot tea too. Some of the things the OP mentioned wouldn't interest me, like the Pringles or Pop Tarts.

OP, I totally agree. While I ADORE Fall, I am not so on board with all the pumpkin flavor.

Ohh
I love Pumpkin Butter. Everything else? Meh.

And there's not a chance I'm eating Pumpkin Spice Pringles. (although it's a better chance than White Chocolate Peppermint Pringles. :crazy2: )
White chocolate peppermint Pringle s. ..I would totally try those!

I wish they would calm down about the pumpkin. Mostly because now it's all pumpkin, all the time so it's hard to find other fall flavors like apple.

No worries on my part. I just see it as companies will come up with this grand marketing scheme and make things that are seasonal and innovative to get people excited in order to turn a profit. You either buy it or you don't, and if you don't they move on to the next great idea. If you do, they will come out with more stuff next year until people get sick of it.

BTW....they also usually make more than one of each item, too, in order to turn a profit, so you might even see a whole bunch of the same item on the shelf!

I happen to like pumpkin, so I'm happy these days. It's not always the case. Not a big mango and pomegranate fan, so I suffered through those phases silently.

FWIW....Adult coloring books anyone? (gag...) Those things along with colored pencils and markers cannot stay on the shelves long enough these days! It'll fade away eventually.

Right there with you. I enjoy the occasional pumpkin-flavored pastry, but all this other stuff is too much.

Plus, I live in Florida - 'fall' doesn't start here for a couple of months yet... right around the time everything will be turning peppermint flavor for xmas.

I have to agree. We were in 2 different grocery stores this weekend that had pumpkin everything. As someone who doesn't even like pumpkin, some of the offerings made me want to gag, lol

Me too! LOVE fall, HATE pumpkin flavored anything. So I'm with ya OP! I'll just stick to the apple stuff for fall. Our local coffee shop makes a Chaider that is oh so delicous and it's MY go-to fall drink. It's hot apple cider mixed with tiger-spiced chai. Yum! I'll leave the pumpkin spice lattes for everyone else!

I'm a very "seasonal" person in the sense that I love taking full advantage of the flavors, scents, and decor that quintessentially represent each season. I do enjoy pumpkin spice products but I agree it might be getting a bit out of hand. Pringles don't need to be pumpkin spice. o_O

I did want to try the pumpkin Pop Tarts last year but could never find them. Don't know if they're back this year because I still can't find them.

I just saw the pumpkin Pop Tarts in our Target on an end cap yesterday. I'm not sure what made me notice them.

I enjoy some pumpkin spice foods, but I do think that it's become a little crazy. The part that I dislike is that they rush all these seasons. I'm not ready for pumpkins spice until the beginning of October. It will probably be gone by then.

Yes, they're out.

They were next to the close out Pop Tarts of the summer, watermelon.

Those looked just as bad IMHO. :crazy2:
