Bring Expensive Stroller? Do you think it would be "taken"?

I brought my Maclaren Techno XT. It's definitely not a cheap stroller, but it was by no means the most expensive or nicest stroller there. When people were leaving there $700 Bugaboos sitting outside, I figured that there was something better to steal than mine. Just make sure you park next to a better, easier to steal stroller. :rotfl: I'd considered bringing my BOB jogger this time around, but it just seems way too bulky to be worth the effort.

We do that with our car sometimes but haven't with the stroller although you've given me the idea to start! I mean if you're going to go through the trouble of stealing something then you should go for the best. For the OP though, we took our Combi which was about $100 (expensive to us) and never had a problem. I think I was more worried about the clip on sunshade we had for it b/c everyone commented about how great it was and did we get it at WDW b/c they wanted one too. It was pretty cheap so it wouldn't have been the money if it was taken but more the fact we couldn't replace it. You'll be fine and have fun!

we bought or brought with us hot pink material and tied it on the handle.. it was so easy to spot in the crowd with all the other rentals each time.. IT was nice being easy to spot!

And I apologize for going off! It was just a sore subject for me because I was DESPERATE to find a double stroller for my taller/heavier kids, and whenever I searched - on stroller threads about doubles, heavier kids, jogging strollers, older Kids ...whatever, I was met with post after post about single umbrella strollers, or the arguments about using a single vs double, and whether to rent or buy, etc. And that would've been fine if the information (opinion) was in answer to the question posed by the OP, but generally it wasn't. It just seems that some people can't pass up a stroller thread, regardless of the question! I'm done now. I've calmed down.

All the above suggestions are great! Also, never leave anything behind that you arent willing to lose. Smaller strollers are more nimble and easily parked. However they have limited capacity. Lazyboy size strollers are clumsy yet allow for lots of storage. Either way, never leave anything important in the stroller and walk away. Otherwise you only have yourself to blame.
So true! My toddler's sweater was stollen out of the stroller basket while we went inside to use the "potty". Not that the sweater was worth alot, but my little one needed that sweater in the evening as it got chilly. i would never have believed that someone would take toddler's clothing, but to them it was easier than paying for one in the gift shop I suppose. :(

We didn't have a problem with our stroller at WDW......because our brand new $300+ jogging stroller never made it there.......we gate checked it at our local airport...no problem....it was fine when we got to Atlanta......however, we needed to change flights and terminals in Atlanta.......well, the baggage people in Atlanta are not careful at all about gate checked strollers and when we picked it up as we got off our flight at MCO I was livid.......the entire stroller was comletely bent and couldn't be opened.....one wheel was broken......it was very obvious something very heavy had either fallen on it or was placed on it after we gate checked it.......it took me four months of emails and phone calls to Delta Claims to finally get reimbursed. So, if you're flying just be aware and make sure you check it thoroughly for any damage before you leave the baggage claim area ......ours was so badly damaged we couldn't even wheel it to file a damage claim.....had to put it on a cart to get there.
