Bring back vintage Disney programming to Disney Channel!

Inside Out was great. It was not produced by Disney, if I remember. I believe I read the credits once, and noticed it was produced by a Canadian production company. Disney must have contracted and outsourced the project. Regardless, it was wonderful. George Foreman had awesome enthusiasm. Even though I knew it was an elaborate infomercial, I didn't mind!

I remember George in the Main Street bakery. I think of this episode every time I walk by the bakery.

Alice in Wonderland (live-action) was a great show!! I bet it was expensive to produce. Money drives everything!

I am not sure I would want them to change the current programming (but I have kids). I would love to have a "Disney Classic" station that shows the classic programs.

Another vote for Inside Out and Vault Disney. I loved watching these two shows!

Another vote for those two shows as well!

Gonna go whip an email off to the links listed here. Wouldn't it be cool to see them schedule those shows in reponse to our emails? :p

HEY! It could happen!! LOL

This all will probably end up as "wishful thinking" for those of us that really miss the old Disney Channel. I recall how excited I was when we first got cable and we were able to subscribe to the Channel. All those vault Disney type programs!! All those quality original movies!!
Now--well, I can't even recall watching ANYTHING on the Disney Channel in the last 2 years or so. If it weren't part of my TV programming "package" I'd dump it in a minute.
I'm sure Disney made the change to the current programming based on what they thought/knew folks these days wanted to see. And they have no intention of ever going back.

Too bad. But at least I got to see some good things those first few years.

I had basic cable ..no Disney. One of the reasons I switched to DirecTV was to get the Disney Channel so I could check out all of those inside Disney shows...

Sure enough as soon as I got it they stopped airing the shows...

I miss Vault Disney!!!!!

I second that emotion! that was such a great program! I totally miss Vault Disney.

Personally, I also miss the original Disney Channel programming too...I grew up on that stuff...all those EPCOT shows...::sigh:: I have a bunch of the old Disney Channel Magazines, flipping through those things is a lot of fun..::sigh::the good old days.

Jungle Josh

JUst last summer they played the fun shows, and now they don't! They played Davy Crockett and Fago El Baca (or something). They were great! Now it's the same thing ALLLLLL day.

Best bet: Buy a DVD player, and purchase the Disney treasures sets and any of the Disney titles you want. I think you'll see more of the vintage stuff coming on DVD.

A note about Inside/Out:
I thought this was a great show, but I had a chance to talk to Brianne Leary during a taping of Pettsburgh (sp?) which she was host of. You may also remember her as the host of Inside/Out. She told us that the show ended, because they literally ran out of things to talk about that Disney was willing to show. She said she had a lot of fun on the show though and wished it could continue.

They own a whole library of programs for 50 years. Why they can't show them on their own channel is beyond me. Would love to see the openings and anniversary shows of the parks. Captain EO's opening was pretty cool, as was Disney's 30th Anniversary. Guess they don't want people to Remember the Magic :)

Not a fan of the whole Britney Spears crowd, but you think Disney could make a killing in viewership by showing all those Mickey Mouse club episodes that she talks about.

I miss the old shows too. Maybe they need to come up with an adult Disney channel. Incorporate cooking and stuff, and then show those old wonderful Disney movies. I love watching Annette

I thought I remembered at the time they stopped showing Vault Disney that they sold a lot of the rights to those older movies/shows to the Hallmark Channel. But, the Hallmark Channel hasn't been showing them...hmmm...I also really miss this programming. I always turned it on late at night when we lived in Chicago (it was better than laying awake and listening to the L rumble by). I think, as Micca alluded, that they figured they could make more money selling these shows on DVDs.

They also used to have a show called Inside Out...the host was JD Roth and they would have a segment each week about a specific area of WDW.. this was in 1994-1995. I remember when they did a special on the Disney Institute. That would be cool to see something like that again.

I would love for them to bring that show back! I loved it! The kids and I would sit Sunday afternoons and put some popcorn on and watch it!

I also would love to see more specials from WDW that they used to do; I think they had shows featuring BB Mak and, I may be wrong with the name, M2M. They filmed them at WDW and it was great to see WDW that way!

I can't stand Sister Sister and Boy Meets World (that is the show my DD who was eight learned a terrible medaphor for kissing...she never was allowed to see the show again!) I honestly don't like some of the newer cartoons that they have out, either...but they are better than MTV? LOL!!!! I don't let them watch some of the newer cartoons, but I do sit and watch Lizzie with my girls...I think that is an adorable show!

I miss seeing all the old cartoons. I know their response to that will be to order Toon Disney, but still, a few besides House of MOuse would be nice. I especially misss seeing A Disney Halloween, thats what used to make Halloween special.
