Hopefully, you also wrote to WDW or dropped off a note at Guest Relations as well. Because the TTA CMs don't really have any say in what is done with the attraction, and not all of them have the initiative to take your comments and move them up the line. In fact, some of them probably don't even know what's changed or that there even WAS a change!

:earsboy:

How and why WDW makes some of the decisions they do could be the subject of a pretty interesting book on management. Some others that come to mind - 20K Leagues; Figment. There may be reasons for elimination/replacement rather than refurbishment but I can't imagine what they might be. Especially in this case - a sound track???? I can't see a cost there, I suspect whatever they may gain via advertising is lost by drop off in riders - maybe its a plot to do away with TTA? Whats next CoP?

20K is easy. It's like having an old car that you love, but when it breaks down you discover it costs far more to fix the car than what the car is worth. So, do you plunk down the cash because you love the car, or do you upgrade to a better car to save money? 20K was literally falling apart. They took it out rather than spend too much money to rehab what was a cheesy, far-too-out-of-date-technologically attraction. Plans for a new attraction got put on hold and the area has been a meet & greet spot ever since. A whole new attraction, ride and character area will be in that location in the new Fantasyland.

No idea about Figment. Who knows?

The soundtrack? Also easy. The Imagineers have everything on a rehab / refresh schedule. And they like coming up with new things, becase ... well ... that's their job. Disney likes to refresh and replace stuff. Sometimes it works (Toad to Pooh, for example); sometimes it doesn't. But just because one group of people demands the old soundtrack return, there's a whole group of other people who are glad it changed. Disney has to please both of them. No easy feat.

I just signed the petition on page 2, item 30 on this tread.

I haven't heard of anyone, including all the CMs I spoke to re the soundtrack change, who LIKES the new soundtrack;)

If you spoke to more than 50% of the people who have visted WDW since the soundtrack changed, that counts. If not ... it doesn't, really. The folks you've heard from are a very very small sample. ;)

:scared1::scared1:Toad to Pooh:scared1::scared1:
That was the worste idea ever....bring back Mr. Toad

The new voice has all of the gravitas of someone reading the ingredients from the back of a packet of soup. It is horrible, the 'funny' interjections from characters at a couple of points also miss the mark.

Also from never experiencing an issue on this ride in the past 4 times I have visited (spread over 4 years) this time it stopped at least 10 times in only 2 rides.

On the first occasion the ride stopped and reversed just as the doors had opened to let us off, which nearly caused me an injury as I was half way out. Luckily I managed to do a little hop and skip, but still got hit by the closing door which hurt my leg a little bit

The latter time we were stuck for 15 minutes, announcements to stay in the vehicle happened constantly, and nearly deafened me and my girlfriend. The person the CM they had to do the announcements, shouldn't have been doing them - very painful to listen to. We sat there with our fingers in our ears whenever she began to speak.

I'll sign. Here's another (closet) People Mover fan, it's one of my favorites because I remember using it with my lovely wife for breaks to feed and rest our kids.

Similar experience on breakdowns. The budget cuts are really starting to take their toll I'm thinking.

We expressed our concern about the magic-less TTA soundtrack in the online post-visit survey form we received yesterday. "Poor" ratings should alert at least one set of eyebrows.

A previous poster suggested as an example the change from Mr. Toad to Winnie the Poor. They each have their respective fans. True. But the new TTA has no fans, not one person who considers the new soundtrack superior to the old. And that's were the analogy ends.

"Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow."

That only works, though, if you have spoken to and gotten an opinion from every single person who has heard the new soundtrack. Otherwise it's only the folks you've read here or talked to. While that might be a significant sample to you, it's not a large enough sample to base a change on. Unless you happen to have a couple of hundred thousand friends who feel the same way.

That said ... if all of those people of whom you speak wrote a letter or e-mail to WDW, then there's a chance there will be some action taken. If all they did was sign the petition and complain here, then there is virtually no chance at all.

Indeed. A sad state of affairs, to be sure.

We may have to take your suggestion and poll everyone during our next trip. We'll alert you in advance and, perhaps, you can keep us supplied with Mickey Bars during our efforts at the bottom of the TTA walkway.

All the best.

I would be happy to. I'll even stand in for those pollsters who need potty breaks!

Merry Holidays!

(Sigh)
I'm going to WDW next week and I'm still so very sad :sad2: that my favorite attraction has been changed (& not for the better, IMHO!)
I used to look forward to going on the TTA many times-it was the first attraction we would head to after entering the MK! For me, the spiel is what made it special & Magical! DH & I knew every line & would recite it as if WE were the narrators! (A bigger Sigh!)

I don't think I'll even go on it next week.

I just rode the TTA several hours ago. I don't care for the new soundtrack so I basically shut it out.
