Snow White was released in 1938. You think that makes 7DMT easily dated and antiquated?

Everything at Disney is an IP of some sort even Its a small world is an IP, That said there is a big difference between an evergreen ip like Snow White and a flash in the pan celebrity driven IP can you say Davy Crockett / Fess Parker for a long dead IP. Or Fallon over at Universal

Under Eisner they handled this better, Disney promoted the heck out of the current hot ip with parades festivals and roaming characters but rides were based on evergreen IP’s or concepts.

Look at Frozen for instance Disney created a evergreen IP and the only place it’s getting the attraction it deserves is Tokyo.

Shows how little interest I have in Disney star wars, you are probably correct in that i am confusing the rides. But since Disney decided to recast star wars with forgettable characters ive completely lost interest in the franchise.
Please do us all a favor and actually do some research before you continue to be so adamant about your opinions. Your posts show that you have clearly never been on some of these rides, or even watched videos of them, so not sure how you can have such strong opinions on what they are like. I would love to know the answer to the question you've been asked several times of when the last time you actually went to WDW was?

2018 Marathon weekend when my wife was treated so badly by GF front desk she spent the next six hours in tears while i was at 35,000 feet unable to do anything to help. No one treats my family like that. We had one of the (in)famous vanishing DVC reservations. Points charged but no reservation fortunately she had her BFF to help negotiate the Disney created mess but she got called all kind of names by desk staff until the mess was straightened out. Fortunately her BFF had attack lawyers on speed dial.

and people wonder why I have a particular dislike for how Disney is run these days.

the upshot of that trip was we sold DVC the moment we got back 800 points in the current UY and another 400 banked.

its funny how one really bad experience can sour you on your one time happy place.

If we are done with the Thread About One Guy’s Opinion, can we get back to returning guest experiences? I’m jonesing for mini-golf and toppings bars myself! Give me back my giant row of sauces!

I can't think exactly what I want back. We haven't been since 2017, so I won't really know what I'm missing until I'm there, want it, and can't get it! :D

Our family always had an awesome tradition of ordering ice cream at the Plaza Ice Cream Shoppe, scouting out a great table, and then just loving every single minute of Happily Ever After.

We loved it so much, that my TEENAGERS (ages 15 and 18) still listen to that soundtrack in the car and when they do their homework. it brings tears to my eyes every time. We miss it that much.

I just want to watch that show again with them on a beautiful Florida night before my oldest strikes out into adulthood.

Happily Ever After - PLEASE!

I know my DD friends, who she went through DCP with (they all stayed on after their DCP) My DD left after 3 years to come home and her friends were there when the pandemic hit. They waited for the call back, but it came too late for them. One got a job at Universal, and the other is working elsewhere. The sad thing is all the unemployment, and handouts has a lot of people sitting home rather than looking for work. Hopefully we'll see employment numbers go up soon and CM training and hiring return.

That sounds awful. Can I ask though why you're still actively posting on a Disney-World related forum if you don't go there anymore and haven't for 3 years?

I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but with so few perks for onsite guests, I wish they would go ahead and implement the thirty minutes early park entry time for them. This "open the parks early from 30 minutes to an hour before announced official opening" was started to cut down on crowding, which I understand. But now with more people coming, people are still crowding. And it's a pain to not know when you can actually get in. Guest dissatisfaction with so little mousekeeping is also an issue for me. I am hoping long lines will be alleviated some by starting to load at full capacity again and lessening physical distancing. But by summer, if we have no more quick service restaurants opening and shows opening, guest satisfaction will certainly go down, and we need to voice it through emails to guest services. I do believe they still listen. I don't think fast passes will come back in the same form, not since Disney can make a little more money to compensate for their losses though some sort of pay system. I do believe pre and post park opening paid experiences like Boo Bash will return soon, for the same money reason.

The ignore button is a wonderful thing, folks.
I hope Winter/Summerland opens this summer. I'm tired of Fantasia Gardens. Seems like it would be an easy think to open with the incoming CP.
Thank you, I do not mind reading those with views different than mine but it should be grounded in some kind of reality. I guess their are people who just like to post for the sake of posting and to see if they can get a "rise" out of others.

I think slowly but surely more guest experiences will open through the rest of the year. I expect by the end of next year 2022, Disney World should be back to normal or VERY close to it. Honestly, I think fireworks will probably return this summer ( Fourth of July is my guess). Parades could also happen this summer or this year as well due to the 50th anniversary.

The character meet and greets will probably take the longest to return. This is just due to cast members safety (face characters) and fur characters as well. Some people don't take the virus seriously so it would be a disaster if cast members got it from guests or kids. Or Disney has to wait until cast members would feel comfortable doing it (or let it be optional for cast members who want to do meet and greets etc).

What do I want to see back? Mousekeeping. More busses or more people loaded on busses. Mousekeeping. Shows. Mousekeeping. Fireworks. Mousekeeping Fastpass. Mousekeeping. Dining plan.

So get vaccinated people so we can hit herd immunity and have things back to normal!

I hate myself for saying this but covid was a opportunity to implement long planned cutbacks to increase profitability and the stock price, its great if you hold a large position in Disney stock, not so great as a guest.

Disney is trying to figure out the absolute minimum they need to do to get acceptable guest satisfaction. So things will be added back very slowly so they can measure the financial effect of each item added back.

And unfortunately, with the pent-up demand I think they will get the idea that they had been unnecessarily spoiling their customers before. Because the crowds will increase regardless of how little they bring back. There are a LOT of people that told their children they are going to Disney. If and when they can go, they WILL go. But, will they be interested in coming back? No, they will decide that Disney wasn't worth it. Even the kids that go probably won't take their kids in 20 years because their memories will be of waiting in lines.

Even pre-lockdown, Disney had the idea that lines were a good place to park people. Even on low crowd days they'd pull ride vehicles to keep people from going on too quickly.

Unfortunately, the bean-counters in charge aren't good at long-term thinking.

Because it was my happy place for 30 some odd years and the constant cutting just makes me angry. What we call Disney is layered experiences and details that while you may not notice them they help create the atmosphere. Like the prayer wheels and flags near Everest.

Right now Disney is a pale shadow of what it was in the 90’s.

‘They paved paradise and put up a ‘stroller’ parking lot’ is an apt description
