Fresh back from a whirlwind trip for the Wine and Dine race. Basically a terrific trip.
The Good:
Beach Club is awesome for race weekend. Stayed in a standard room that overlooked a courtyard. I assume it was standard because we looked over a small roof for a covered walkway before seeing the grass and flowers. We were located near the stairs on the second floor, which was most appreciated, especially right after the race. We received both requests for a day bed and full balcony. Our children locked us out of the room race night by pulling that metal bar across the door latch. Despite repeated calls, they wouldn't wake up. Engineering was there in about 90 seconds. I cant rave enough about service. I had stayed here before and thought it was okay, but really top notch this time.
Transportation was terrific, even to the MK. I know this is hit or miss, but it was spot on this time.
We had wonderful cast member interactions, particularly at AK.
HS night we walked on Toy Story 3 times about 20 minutes to closing. I had heard people do this, but I was surprised we could with a 7 pm park closing. I am definitely doing this park in the evenings from now on. I used to rope drop it, but last summer that was a nightmare.
the Bad:
RnR was down all day on our HS day (which might explain why we could get onto Toy Story--maybe the park was abandoned). They told us to modify our fastpasses which left us with the choices of Beauty and the Beast and the great movie ride. Really? With two tween boys that was a no go. However, I knew that the fastpass I had would work at another ride, except toy story, so we went on ToT without modifying the FP+ and the RnR FP+ worked at ToT. When in line for ToT, one side went down, so it took some time to use, but it was still shorter than standby.
MDX app did not work. I spent four hours (yes, four hours) trying to cancel a dinner reservation. I tried the app and I even tried calling, wherein I was told my reservation did not exist. Finally, I was able to cancel over the phone later. This is totally unacceptable.
MVMCP was not our cup of tea. We love the Halloween party, but I found this party a little underwhelming. My kids just did not engage. I wont be doing this again, but I am glad I tried it. Given the short time frame we had, it was nice to walk on rides. Even 7 dwarves was only a 20 minute wait.
All in all a good trip. The park and resort customer service were still very good, but the app and the telephone center need work still.
