Brief arrival Night at MK / First Time For Kids

While our arrival night was originally going to be a resort day at AoA, I got itchy and added a day to our tickets in case we wanted to go to the parks. I also didn't want to be stuck in the room in case weather was not favorable for being by the pool.

So, we have to go to MK first, for the view of the castle of course. I was thinking that if we get there by 5ish, we'll meet Mickey at Townsquare (FP), ride the train, have a QS dinner, and then... ? I want to leave before the fireworks.

We'll be there the next day, so I really just want to let the kids (3 & 6) have a chance to take it all in this first night. Maybe people mover? Grab an ice cream and people watch? Make a wish at the wishing well?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Do you mind if I ask, do you have a long/stressfull travel day, or an easy/quick journey?

My kids are around the same age as yours and I’m always a bit in energy conservation mode on arrival day.

I think your plan sounds pretty solid. PeopleMover, COP, Country Bears, and the TikiRoom are also “fillers” that sometimes work for us.

I would personally have a hard time pulling myself away from staying for fireworks, but that probably is the better plan so everyone can get some reasonable sleep.

Have fun, and good luck!

Also, I’ll add, that’d probably be a good time to get plenty of evening PhotoPass pics.... while everyone is still rested, smiling, and happy. :-)

Not at all, we have a 2 1/2 hour flight arriving about 12:45 (aware delays may happen). I'm anticipating an hour or so to unpack while the kids rest (not sure if first day excitement will allow a nap).

Love those ideas, especially photos. And honestly if we feel they aren't up to it we'll stay in.

We have a Plaza Garden dessert party 3 days after which is why I'm ok slipping out before HEA this time. :)

Thank you for the ideas!

Ahh, ok... so that’s a somewhat long travel day already. If your kids are anything like ours (good stamina but still need their sleep), I think you’re on the right track with your plan.

Good call on the dessert party BTW. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip!
