For the poster that said life is too short, I agree. It is much too short to dwell on people who aren't willing to stand up and behind you when it truly matters.

This really is a sad situation. I got into an argument with a sibling and my mom got involved. I didn't talk to certain family for almost a year. It broke my dads heart. It was a situation similar to yours but not involving a bachelorette party. Just similar attitudes. You want to know what brought us back together? My dads death. Sad but true. It wasn't worth it. Let this calm down some and please reAch out to your brother. Life is too short.

Ironically it was my Mom's death and subsequent Estate Sale that caused rift in my family, because of one crazy SIL.

I'm in a similar situation now. My dad is still alive and trying to stay out of the mess. He's not in the best health though. I know it hurts him to see his family in the state it is now , especially with the holiday coming up.
I'd love for the issue to be resolved but sometimes it's just not possible. I think about what would happen if his health took a turn for the worst but even then I don't see a reconciliation. Sometimes the longer things go on, the more hurt feeling become.

Op, I'm sorry things worked out the way they did. You've tried reaching out numerous times. At a certain point you have to realize you can't fix something by yourself. Until the others involved are ready to work at a resolution with you, you are better off just living your life and accept that you can't fix it.
