Bridge Tours on the Magic?

I'm just curious about the process of getting (booking?) a bridge tour? DH would really love to see the Bridge. What days are they offered and how long is the tour? How soon should I get tickets? We will be on the February 28th Magic, Western.

The bridge tours are 'Free' and you have to get a ticket to do it, go to Guest Services and they can tell you how to get them....the tours are offered on days when the ship is in port.....Andy

Bring your camera. Pictures are allowed during the bridge tour. We got a picture of the magical "Horn" button.

On the 12/27/03 sailing, while in Orange terror alert status, cameras were prohibited on the bridge tour. So it is not always a guarantee.

And the magical horn button was a disappointment...just a plain old button.

Kids can go on the bridge tour. They might have to be a certain age though.

Yes, go to Guest Services or the Excursion Desk, both on deck 3, to get your bridge tour tickets......Andy

Thanks for the info, now I have more questions:

How long is the tour?

Would the tour conflict with excursions since they are on port days?

As I recall, our tour was less than 30 minutes and whether or not it will conflict an excursion will depend on when and how long your excursion is and when you are able to get a time reserved for the bridge tour.....Andy

The kids in the lab have a bridge tour as one of their scheduled activities...meet the captain, etc. One little guy informed us that he "learned how to drive the ship."

As to conflict with excursions on port days....that's one means of "crowd control." You will have to look at excursion times and bridge tour times, and decide which you'd rather do. That's another reason not to book excursions in advance--you never know what the alternatives might be. Of course, the positive to booking in advance is that you know you'll get your first choice activity.

There's way more to do on the ship than time to do it!!!

Thanks for all your help! There's only one excursion we really want to do, so that gives us the other port days to try for a bridge tour.

Kcashner, How do we know when the kids do the tour? Is it in the Navigator? Can we do the tour at the same time as them? My DS(6) would be all over the Driving the ship thing so I would want him to go with the kids group instead of us.

JoniJ, The kids tour is in their version of the Navigator that you will get when you first sign them into the club. You normally can't go with them on their tour but you could ask the counsellor if it is OK.

From the Jan 5th Western Magic Navigator "Disney Magic Bridge Tour Reservations: Reserve your Bridge Tour tickets at Guest Services, open 24 hours, or the Shore Excursion Desk during opening hours. Tours available in Couzumel and Castaway Cay."

plenam - because of liability (lots of dangerous stuff in the engine rooms, ie. constantly moving machinery, etc.) they do not offer engine room tours.
