Bride-to-be's totally confusing PJ - Beach towel design =o)

In my (nice and blunt) opinion, lol, you should stick with a 7am ceremony. You will then avoid a ton of logistical problems that you are concerned with and give yourself extra time. I still think having a wedding right before you leave for a cruise is a HUGE risk. Why not start at 7 and give yourself some cush time? Chances are you will have plenty of time but why risk it? It seems silly to pay so much and have to meet food and beverage minimums just to gulp down a bagel and rush off.

I also think that Disney will not make the changes you want just for you (not sure why you think they actually will allow you to use the coach and have outside photography when no one else is) BUT if they do, you should really keep quiet about it. What is going to happen is you are going to tell on yourself...someone will read about an outside photographer being allowed in a park and then every Disney bride will be calling and emailing their planners and they will pull anything special you got before you can say Mickey (if they allow it in the first place which I am still skeptical about). I know I sound pessimistic but I had no budget for my wedding and I had some crazy ideas... some ideas they went with and some were rules and they absolutely stuck to them.

So I wanted to post a picture of the caftan on a model b/c I think it looks a little better but I can only find the picture on one website and b/c of flashplayer I can't copy it. GRRRRR.
So here is the tiny little image I can copy from google images.

These are two of the beach bridesmaid dresses I really l like to go with it. Even though the first one is not pink - everyone really likes it - so its a contender.

Even though I really dislike Davids Bridal :scared: I think Melissa found the perfect bridesmaids dresses that could work for both the castle or the LSS. They are a bit more expensive but convenient b/c everyone could try it on first. They are the perfect color too! Stupid flash player again - here is a re-posting of the link she first posted. http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/...998976|-49998975|-49998974&catentryId=1000584

Go me lol!! I don't think the price is bad... you are taking everyone on a cruise and vacation. They can woman up for their dresses. I'm not even going to say how much my BM's dresses cost :rotfl2: I think $150 is about average.

I just want to add that I think you might regret the beach cover up, getting married in your bathing suit thing, if you go the Castaway Cay route. Not trying to be a b$tch but as you get older and wiser and look back on your photos you might think it is silly. You can find a very classy, low key, white dress for the ceremony and it would be a lot nicer, classier and more elegant. I think you might not feel like you had a wedding with the whole bathing suit deal. And the hormonal pregnancy monster is making me say this (but I'm sure lots of people are thinking it).... It's really Pamela Anderson 'AKA tacky' to get married in your bathing suit. I consider myself to have exceptional taste and I think it would look very nice to have your Belle dress and the contrast of the ocean etc. I bet the Roots could take some amazing and incredibly unique photos.

Ok, I am off to annoy someone else :goodvibes

Why don't you just buy out the Magic Kingdom for the day. Then you wouldn't have to worry about guests.

I am anxious to see what ceremony you end up with. I hated planning one wedding let alone two. :scared1:

I think this is the most interesting planning journal I have ever read......

:lmao::rotfl: I AGREE!

Can you just imagine the signs around WDW stating why the MK is closed for the day? And the notice going out to CMs that "Today has been added as a Magic Kingdom cast member black-out date, due to the wedding ceremony of Cassie and John..." :rotfl:

Cassie - don't lie! You'd probably LOVE THAT! Unfortunately, even LOADS of money (which it sounds like your family may have?) won't buy you that.

Skylarr, it's not your hormones making you think "AKA tacky" about the bathing suit. I agree with you. I don't think I have some of those preggy hormones still hanging around from 8 yrs ago :rotfl2:.

Nordstrom's has a lot of nice casual wedding dresses on their site. The OP might take a look.

As far as I know they don't even offer a 7am ceremony - but I will put it on the list of things to ask about.

Don't worry you aren't annoying at all! You are probably right about the bathing suit thing. I have lots of stuff to think about. As far as prices no $150 isn't bad at all - but considering those NZ ones were less - makes them a steal. I agree though that the davids bridal one goes far better with my dress than the others.

In the beginning of my PJ I said we have to keep this reasonable!!!! I wish we could afford to rent the park out. Even if we could afford to do that I wouldn't want it for our wedding. I would rent it out just so that under privleged kids could have a chance to go to disney. A chance that they might not otherwise have. On that note do they ever rent out the MK during the day? I don't see how they could do - I know they rent it out at night.

I think this is the most interesting planning journal I have ever read......

Thanks! hopefully it will be more interesting once our plans are settled and I can start playing with details.

I was just going to say - I don't think they would do that. I tried to rent out CRT for breakfast and they wouldn't even begin to let me do that even for an hour early in the am.

I believe her name is CASSIN..at least that is what the Pal Mickey STD's says...

and Betsy (with an e or no?) you can call me cassie - no one uses my real name

I would love to have MK to myself!! :lmao::lmao:

My husband and I had a castle wedding ceremony at Disneyland about 3 years ago.... It was all that I could have imagined, but if I had to do it again, I wouldn't..... All the rules and policies that we had to follow were a headache.... And all those things that you think you can sweet talk Disney into... GOOD LUCK......Making exceptions for one opens them up to issues in the future. That is why they have policies to begin with....... You can throw around all the money you want, but there are still some things that Disney JUST WON'T DO.

The website does say 8am. I could have sworn I read that you wanted it at 8but it was supposed to be at 7... I must have gotten confused along the way. I thought you were tyring to move it to a later time. I am sure they have accounted for breakfast reservations and things and will work it out.

Were you named after someone? I like Cassin.

I was named after my great great grandfather. So its an old family name.

Thanks for the advice - I would love to see pics!!! So thats why we have a plan B. I am going to wait to hear from then in a few weeks - see how the answers to all of our questions come back and then make the decision.

Someone on the last page said 7 I forget who and it went from there. It was a huge concern of mine and our coordinator played it off as no big deal and said not to worry we wouldn't see anyone. I wouldn't have thought about moving it earlier b/c DF I don't think would be too happy but I am going to ask about it just to see - b/c if we could perhaps we would have more time. I think most of our guests will think that 8 is early as it is though. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I just had a BRILLIANT idea!! Why don't you rent out CC for a day when the ship isn't there? I think I read some corporate event rented out CC ...I didn't believe it, but I think it was in the paper...

If it was cheaper than the castle wedding then maybe we might be interested - but I doubt it is. I just saw a podcast about a family who got the whole island to themselves for 1 day - it looked like fun!

Honestly if we could just get a small corner of a beach so we could all just sit together I would be happy. I told them I wasn't trying to get something for nothing - but that still didn't seem to make a difference.

Cassie... I am going to give you some honest, past bride advice...As exciting as it is to try and plan your wedding and get rules changed or bent, it would be better to keep that to yourself.

DFTW people read over here...talking about having special permission to get outside photographers into the parks is only going to create a problem. Other brides are going to start insisting that they be allowed to use an outside photographer too...that they get to use the coach instead of the carriage.

I was the first DCL bride to have a cake set up in Palo and I fought very hard for it..but it wasn't against the rules..it just hadn't been done...so that opened a door for future brides...but when I was told about a VR photo package that they were "testing" for less than half the current package..I kept my mouth SHUT on the boards..I didn't want to have it taken away and I am afraid your posting about breaking rules will cause them to take away or just plain refuse your requests.

I guess you are very young and every thought that pops in your head just spills out, but you need to learn how to keep quiet if you really are trying to break rules.

The rules are in place for a reason..whether it be because Disney is trying to corner the market on the photography or because the coach is to fragile to transport over to MK..

Betsy Betsy Betsy

To start off with there is a rule against having a cake in Palo - it may have not been in place when you were there but it is now. We were told that even if we did have the entire place rented to ourselves with no one else there that we still could not have a cake there. I think its a really stupid rule but I still have the email stating it.

Who says I am trying to bend all of these rules???? I think you guys are putting words in my mouth.

As for photography I said that even though its not allowed its worth asking about and trying to get. If we ever could get it there would be no mention of it on these boards and I am sure we would have to sign something saying there would be no mention of it and no pictures on the internet. I just want to ask about it - thats all! Its not something that I have even had the chance to ask about yet.

As for the carriage each castle wedding I have ever seen has always had the carriage - I have never before seen the landau coach there. Just because it says landau coach on the website - who knows. I asked our coordinator and he said he thought they usually used the coach - but he didn't say we couldn't have the carriage and that there was a rule against it he just said it was something he had to check on. And yes it will probably make or break whether we do the castle or not. I don't see why when they are charging so much for this whole princess/cinderella experience that they don't use the carriage. I understand the rule about it being used in the park during park hours but tech we will be out of the park before it actually opens.
There are on average only two castle weddings per year its not like asking for something special at the WP.

Do you have problems with anything else?

If we go the castle wedding route I am going to try as hard as I can to get special permission to get them in even though its not allowed.

I heard about cinderellas coach but they are working on making an exception. Its one of the thing on the super long list for our coordinator. The coach may make or break the deal. !

Silly me...You aren't trying to BEND the rules..you are just trying break them...my mistake.

and no cake in Palo?? That is really strange since it is standard for any CC wedding and I know 2 people that are having their cake set up in Palo just like I had..
