bride here from the weddings forum needs help ***THANKYOU ***

Hi fellow brits

I am a regular on the wedding board and didn't actually realise that there was a uk board

anyhoo, I am in a pickle. With the economy as it is we have lost 15 guests to our wedding in 4 months and are really struggling to fill our room block, and if we book hotel rooms over a villa it is going to cost us a lot extra ! and our wedding is already costing us £5000 more than it was a year ago

The problem is that we need to pay for 25 room nights to have our wedding with disney even if they are not used

I dont mean to be rude to ask, but if anyone will be in a Disney hotel over the period 16 May - 6 June 2009 if you wouldn't mind, please can I use your reservation number?

Another Uk bride is letting me use her number for 10 nights so we are just short 15 nights.

There is nothing else involved other than you giving me your reservation number and I give it to Disney Weddings or if you prefer, I can give you the Disney information and you can give them the number yourself.

I'm sorry if this sound cheeky, but I thought that if people are using rooms anyway then maybe they wouldn't mind?

First of all congrats and I'm sure it will be everything you've dreamed of.

We had exactly the same problem with our room block, we were the only ones staying at disney and everybody else stayed in villas, thankfully I did the same as you and posted on the boards and got a few dissers to help me out.

We have 5 nights booked at VWL from the 24th May so I will forward you our ref number. Hopefully someone else will come along and help you out with the remaining nights, try posting on the Resort forum too.

If DVC accomodations still count then you can have mine!

If you can only count the nights after the 16th May then i have 14 nights in total.

I'm being a bit thick . . . we got married at Disney and didn't have to book any rooms other than our own. Is this a new thing they have started? We only had ten people come so we wouldn't have been able to do it either!

Anyway, we will be there from May 2nd - checking out on the 16th. Is that any help at all?

I think it depend on which type of wedding you book, If you have under 18 guests then you can have an escape wedding and you only need to have 4 nights (I think)
If you have over that amount of guests or you want more options and a reception then you need a wishes wedding and dependant on your numbers, your room minimum goes up. The lowest is 25 nights.

If you are still struggling with the room block try talking to Disney and see if you can get the number reduced. They might be accommodating...

If you want to change the date of your wedding to around the same time as ours in December I can give you 10 nights. Now that's a solution

If you can't get enough nights covered on this forum try the Resorts one - I'm sure you will get some joy there

just wanted to say congratulations and i hope it is all sorted now for you - unfortunately we aren't travelling this year otherwise I would have given you our res no too!!

We were married at the Wedding pavillion in 1998 with chip n dale helping cut the cake - I noticed your date of May 27th - we were married on May 28th!!!

I'm sure it will be everything you have ever hoped it would be - I know ours was definitely the best day of our lives - please do report back afterwards!!
