I'm stumped! I'm getting married in just over 2 weeks and need to pick out an entrance song for the reception. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like something upbeat! :dance3:

Thanks everyone!

Do you and your future husband have any common musical taste - or movies with a recognizable soundtrack? DH and I (and his entire family) love John Williams - we see him at Tanglewood every year. So at our wedding reception, the family was introduced to the theme from Star Wars, and DH and I got Indiana Jones/Raiders of the Lost Ark.

(I personally would have preferred the Imperial March, but that was too much Star Wars for one wedding...;) )

The one I thought was the cutest was when the bride and groom wore Wayfare style sunglasses and were introduced to the Beatles "All you need is love".

OK, I thought it would seem funny but then this was the first response that I read :rotfl2:

DH and I were introduced with the Indiana Jones/Raiders theme also (funny, I don't remember what we used for the rest of the wedding party but that was the song that they changed to as they introduced us).

MY DH picked Another One Bites the Dust.

:rotfl2: I was thinking of this one! Not only for the humor ( mostly) but also the beat is good to walk in to. I don't know if my guests share my same sense of humor.

We do listen to a lot of classic rock at home. I've seen 'Another one bites the dust' and 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC mentioned a few times as suggestions on other DJ/Band websites.

I'm still undecided! Keep 'em coming! :thumbsup2

We didn't use a song, we had our DJ announce our entire wedding party and then us last, and went straight into our first dance.

But the funniest thing I've ever seen was at my cousin and her DH's wedding. They used Let's Get Ready to Rumble.

One of my favorites was a young friend and his teacher bride and they came out to "Hot For the Teacher."

My hubby and I met through a political forum so we had them play Hail to the Chief.

Probably the only time that will be played when I enter a room.

My ex and I used "We Go Together" (if that's the name of the song) from the movie Grease. The big number at the end of the movie when they're all at the school carnival. It was fun. Unfortunately, my marriage to him was not. LOL

Good luck with whatever you decide, OP. The only way that anybody noticed when we entered our reception was that one of my new brothers-in-law who was a math and choir teacher used his teacher voice to get their attention. There was some polite applause, and then they all went back to ignoring us, because at least half of them had only come to the wedding to cluck their tongues and wag their heads at Mrs. Tex's fall from virtue.* It was great! No music at all.

*Our wedding had been scheduled for October 16. When we changed the date to August 21 -- due to the Army's deciding to send her to Germany and leave me in Kansas -- all the church ladies were certain that we had "jumped the gun", so to speak. It was SO funny seeing them trying to be inconspicuous as they searched her VERY well-fitted wedding dress for a baby bump that wasn't there.

I've heard / seen the Godfather theme and 2001 Space Odyssey monolith theme. I also like Jack and Sally's song at the end of Nightmare Before Christmas

That's what we used for our ceremony recessional - we put in the lyrics in our wedding program (and that's also why they're in my sig :goodvibes )

I seen Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves and I'm Coming Up so you Better get this Pary Started by Pink

I once saw the bride and groom come in to James Brown's 'I Got You (I Feel Good). :cool1:

DH and I went to college together and are big football fans! We entered to the same song our football team does before the game, which is 2001 Space Odyssey. It was awesome!!

Best wishes to you and your future hubby!!:goodvibes
